Jeez that is a load to miss Super. Could it be he has not been with the team for training? He only joined them very recently after being away after his Dad passed away. Feel for him though, new team, not enough time with them, too much expectation .. etc…. Hope he settles in, I think he will. Though have to be fair the same happened with him against the Stormers for the Lions in the semi. Could also be nerves what you think?

How long until Jantjes, Cilliers and Taute regret joining the Shitters?
@ Puma:
dont know, but he looked worried over the kicks. His dad was his kicking coach for long, not sure if he used to be in the crowd when Elton was playing. Anyway, king Mornr is climbing back on his trone, where he belongs. Everything he did tonight was good, very good.

Well there you go I thought Stormers would beat the Bulls with them being without Greyling and Steenkamp. Just shows one never knows until the game….hehe.
Jeez have a look at the R-T Superbru, a lot of movement there tonight, biggest rise 50 places, biggest drop 40
155 @ superBul:
Feel for Elton especially after he lost his Father Super. He is a class flyhalf and hope he can pull it back somehow. Losing ones father is a very big loss. Think Carlos Spencer also helped him with kicking and also Braam Van Straaten helped him more than any with kicking at goal.
Morne has always been good with Bulls Super. There he has no pressure like he has playing with the Boks. Let us see how he goes later in this tourney. For me now the two flyhalves that are going against each other for the Bok 10 is Goosen and Lambie. Those are our two best right now. They both play a good attacking a game. Let us see the season how it goes. Elton can still suprise too, it is after all only the first saffa game!
Well from what I am reading here until I have seen this game we are light years away from the game played against Chiefs and Landers today. That was a awesome game and a pleasure to watch.
@ Puma:
OK i am not thumb sucking it read the match report on News 24, here is the start.
The Bulls opened their Super Rugby campaign with a solid 25-17 victory over the Stormers at Loftus Versfeld on Friday night.
Flyhalf Morne Steyn was the leading man in their victory, contributing 20 points to the Bulls’ score with six penalty conversions and a conversion kick.
The match was evenly poised, however the Bulls converted their scoring opportunities into points as Steyn was on target with his placekicking.
His counterpart Elton Jantjies — playing in the Stormers colours for the first time — on the other hand struggled with his aim at goal.
The flyhalf, on loan from the Lions, missed three penalty kicks in the first half and one shortly after the restart.
The Bulls attacked the Stormers line with great intensity in the opening minutes of the match.
Steyn’s accurate kicking out of hand also put the Bulls on the front foot as he forced the Capetonians to turn with kicks behind them.
While the hosts failed to convert their early advances into tries, Steyn obliged when he was asked to go for the three-pointer.
His drop in form in 2012 was a distant memory as he looked like the player of old, sending the ball through the uprights with pinpoint accuracy.

Okay I am reading from where the Stormers scored above. Two tries with Jean and Bekker with Joe getting two conversions and a penalty. Mabye they should introduce Elton from the bench until he feels more postive with the team. Must have been too much pressure on the young flyhalf. Feel for him, AC has to bring in Elton slowly and I am sure he will deliver. He has had to face too much trauma in his life right now. No way should Elton have had to face that much pressure after that and really they should have started with Joe I think. Well who took over from Elton when he came off was it Joe?
162 @ superBul:
Okay it was on goal kicking where Steyn contributed. Fair enough with the Bulls he has normally always been a scoring machine for them there. I wonder how it will be when he has to be asked to control a game with a attacking mind set? Don’t think he is in the class of Lambie or Goosen for that matter either Elton, once Elton can play that game style for Stormers. Just have to see how the season plans out for all the fhs in our conference. I think the best attacking fh will come out tops, not necessary the one with the best goal kicks Super. For now against Stormers that play a similar game style to Bulls the goal kicks would have counted. Next up will be putting your players away for tries that will count. Let us see the season out. Time will tell who is best.
Anyway gents, always good chatting, I am out of here. Good night, enjoy the rest of your evening. Catch up tomorrow.
@ Puma:
The loss does not sadden me, not sure why not…
Really felt for Jantjies, so did everyone from both sides that watched with us
Enjoy it while it lasts Bulls fans, was a long wait
168: long wait ? jou ou grapkas !
‘Long’ is Bekker en Ifran
‘Long’ is ‘n long drop
‘Long wait’ is as jy vir 11 jaar nie ‘n CB wen nie
‘Long wait’ is as jy vir 17 jaar nie die supertitel kan wen nie
Om die Stompies vir 1 jaar nie te wen nie (2012) is nie ‘n ‘long wait’ nie, tjom, dit is ‘n oogwink. 😉
Stem wel saam oor Jantjes, hy is baie beter as gisteraand se vertoning.
*Looks at the score board*
My 2 cents:
Great win by the Bulls. Both teams a bit rusty, but this was to be expected. A lot of bashing in the direction of Elton Jantjies by the Storm-poppies… but what did they expect? It’s his first time in the blue and white stripped leotard, and taking the recent death of his father in consideration, I expected that he would not be his usual self.
I loved the way Wynand Olivier cut through their back-line like snot through a tissue… Maybe it’s because nobody recognized him? I still hate Joel Stransky’s commentating!!
Looking forward to the King vs Force game, can’t wait!
