Cheetah scrum looked better when Nyakane and Adriaanse played together. Caylib hasn’t yet impressed. Will be interesting to see how Lood fares against the bok locks. Uys will be a calming influence alongside him.

Amongst the loosies, Naka is clearly fighting fire with fire, opting for the abrasive Viljoen, rather than the ball stealing ability of Schoeman. Some intriguing one on one’s in the backline too. Ebersohn vs Venter, Sadie vs JJ, Le Roux vs Visser.

This is going to be a humdinger. I know the “Grudge Match” is being preferred, purely from a viewership view, but this will be SA’s clash of the weekend.

JJ is nie ‘n goeie buite senter nie. Even Wynand kan buite senter speel…

twee spanne weeg goed op net op slot waat die bulls dalk n voordeel het
agter dalk steyn se skoppe wat vir willie onder druk kan plaas, maar dan weer is willie n dodelike aanvaller

Cheetahs look great before the tournamnet but at week 5 will we see the same old same old?
Bulls will only ever be good enough to take the title if they stop playing gainst themselves, would 2013 be any different?

  • 5

    @ Gena_ZA:
Lol, your maths letting you down>? Cheetahs were good till week 10, when Goosen broke down.

  • 6

    lol okay, Vat excl

Oh joy! We get to watch Spoes run around avoiding rucks & mauls and missing tackles for 80 minutes, then we get to hear the Bools fans sing his praises for another week.
Anyone like to bet on the number of times MS and the fullback eill kick the ball away aimlessly?

Everybody else are playing against Super 15 teams, except the Tjarks! Interesting tactic from Pluimpie, to try and protect his fragile troops. But despite his precautions, Chadwick still managed to injure himself. Tounge-Out

We will soon see if this ploy will work, methinks they might be a tad undercooked!

A wee chuckle to start the day Tounge-Out

A young Army officer was severely wounded in the head by a grenade, but the only visible, permanent injury was that both of his ears were amputated.

Since his remaining hearing was sufficient, he remained in the Army.

Many years later he eventually rose to the rank of Major General. He was, however, very sensitive about his appearance. One day the General was interviewing three servicemen who were candidates for his headquarters staff.

The first was a Captain, a tactical helicopter pilot, and it was a great interview. At the end of the interview the General asked him,

‘Do you notice anything different about me?’ The young officer answered,

‘Why, yes, Sir, I couldn’t help but notice that you have no ears.’

The general was displeased with his lack of tact and threw him out.

The second interview was with a Navy Lieutenant, and he was even better. The General then asked him the same question,

‘Do you notice anything different about me?’ He replied sheepishly,

‘Well, sir, you have no ears.’ The General threw him out also.

The third interview was with a old Sergeant Major, an Infantryman and staff-trained NCO. He was smart, articulate, fit, looked sharp, and seemed to know more than the two officers combined.

The General liked this guy, and went ahead with the same question, ‘Do you notice anything different about me?’ To his surprise the Sergeant Major said,

‘Yes, sir, you wear contact lenses.’

The General was very impressed and thought, ‘What an incredibly observant NCO, and he didn’t mention my ears.’ He asked, ‘Sergeant Major, how do you know I wear contacts?’ ‘Well, sir,’ the soldier replied, ‘it’s pretty hard

to wear glasses with no f*****g ears.’

Ja nee kyk, ‘n Bokkop, bly nou maar net skerper as ‘n Minora!

    @ Loosehead:

put me down for 50 kicks please.

im going with a Cheetahs win.

  • 14

    @ fayaaz:
    I concur, Cheetahs by 7 Yes-Sir

  • 15

    Bulls by 24…

    15 @ vanStraaten:
Cry-Out me a river. That was super funny! If we were playing last weeks team, hell yes!

  • 17

Hmmm… I like our youngsters, they are a very talented lot but your current Cheetahs side without Johan Goosen, the new combination of Robert “I can’t tackle” Ebersohn and Johan Sadie, forwards with only Adriaan Strauss that demands attention, and Elgar “Not good enough to play Super rugby for anyone” Watts. Won’t be surprised if the Bulls run away like they did last season in the warm up… Didn’t we do the same in the Super rugby match as well… We had more or less the same team that I as a Bulls supporter don’t even rate that highly. Wink

  • 18

    @ vanStraaten:
nee die robert ek tackle en poach beter as stegman ebersohn.hy tackle in elk geval beter as wat spies n losscrum kan clean

  • 19

Even with Morne Steyn a one dimensional kicking machine, JJ Engelbrecht an out of position wing, Morne “The hopeless” Mellet, Werner “Worst Bok Ever Contender” Kruger, Pierre “Ek pomp steriods, maar moet my nie vra om te tackle” Spies, we should win comfortably.

  • 20

    @ vanStraaten:
Lol, nice try Bud, but Ebersohn doesn’t shy away from tackles, the pattern may cause holes, but he doesn’t shirk his tackles. Ebersohn and Sadie, will be good enough to get the backline moving again. You underestimate Watts, just because the Stormers preferred to play “Popgun Grant” doesn’t mean Watts is bad.

Ha Ha, ok then only focus on Strauss, whilst Frans and the rest run holes through the bulls scrum. Nyakane, Strauss and Adriaanse are a solid front row, easily the equal and more of the Bulls current front row.

Your locks are more experienced by far, and the loose foreard battle will be intriguing. I would rather have played Arno starting, but anyway.

In the backline, it’s going to get interesting, Steyn kicks to many balls down Willie’s throat, and you will be chasing ghosts all afternoon.

Aye you did, bear in mind, that Goosen was only starting his senior career, once he settled in, we were on fire. Don’t read too much into last years match.

  • 21

Johann Sadie can’t defend any Bulls supporter can tell you that. I think Goosen was very influential despite the Cheetahs getting hammered by the Bulls last year. I have a soft spot for the Cheetahs… After all Grey College is a Bulls breeding ground lately 😛 Joking aside, I don’t expect to o much different from last year. Elgar Watts isn’t worthy of cleaning Goosen’s boots. I have to say I can’t wait for Pollard and Serfontein getting senior team call ups. Never seen two guys who looked as home in their first senior rugby game as those two, you could argue that’s a Vodacom Cup quality Lions side though probably.

  • 22

The two Ebersohn brothers are always on the list for most missed tackles. I think they’re good rugby players. But defense is a problem for them. Yes Robert put his body on the line, but really this is professional rugby would you expect anything less?

  • 23

    @ vanStraaten:
