@ Puma:
lol Pooms,
BTW i have put up another sharks article re youth players comming in
@ Sharks_forever:
You mean their new acquisitions??
π
61 @ grootblousmile:
Nah…hehehe. Knew JFK was having us on…. π
63 @ Sharks_forever:
Thanks, going to read it now.
Bok Coaching steff involved with the Sharks at the moment, and this morning it came out Carlos Spencer is assisting in their backline coaching, good news indeed.
67 @ Sharks_forever:Expect the Sharks backline to really light up with that news very exciting prospect, indeed.
61 @ grootblousmile:Certainly made my day, laughed, I can tell you!
67 @ Sharks_forever:
A mate where I live told me two weeks back he saw Carlos down at the Tank when he went to re-new his season ticket. We both just thought nothing of it, thought he may just have been there to visit Plum, being both kiwis and all. Well if he is there coaching that is terrific news. I wonder then if it is permanent or what?
Also read on the Roar the Aussie site, that John Mitchell is building a house here in Durbs. Well a blogger there that knows him mentioned it. I have no idea at all, just read that there. Could be a rumour as I don’t blog there just read there from time to time. Excellent site that.

I knew you were having us on….hehehe. You never got me bud…. π
68 @ Just For Kicks:
Okay just had a quick look on SW and see they have confirmed that Carlos is with the Sharks. There is a photo gallery there as well with Carlos with a Sharks jersey on………. Lekker man, we need that sort of top class coaching working with Sharks. Carlos was superb for the Lions and whatever he helps with here and only be top class. Well done Sharks on bringing him in. See on SW says it is short term. Hope he enjoys Durbs and decides to stay on……..
67 @ Sharks_forever:
If you read on SharksRugby site, they had a coaching seminar of sorts at the Tank as well. The Boks kicking coach, defence coach and the scrum coach were all there. Excellent to read that.
72 @ Puma:
That post was meant for Sharks-forever.
Would be great if Sharks could keep Carlos for the whole of the Super Rugby. Still great knowing he is there helping Sharks out as a consultant. Think his input will add plenty to our game.
@ Puma:
Who is your backline coach these days? Isn’t it Grant bashford? He’s pretty good from what I hear?
@ Stormersboy:
Reece Edwards and Bashford are the Backline coaches.
76 @ Stormersboy:
Yes but just look what Carlos done for the Lions? At the time they were truly no names and just look how he got them playing? He is for sure going to add that extra spark. Also it is great to see him wearing the Sharks Jersey……………..
Carlos played flyhalf for probably the best ever Blues team. Then again at the time Sharks had one hell of a team as well. Two of the best teams that year was Blues and Sharks.
Go look on SharksWorld on the Carlos thread, they have a link up there to the photo gallery of Sharks Training with him. I would put it up here but for some reason it don’t come up.
76 @ Stormersboy:
Look the way we played last year there is no disputing that Bashford/Edwards done a damn fine job with the Sharks backs, you could see just how many tries we scored. However, one cant have TOO much coaching there is always something to learn. Carlos for sure will add something extra. Pleased we have him on board, just hope we get him for the duration of S15.
Right, it’s still p1ssing down here in Blue Bulls land, so I am going to head back across the Jukskei to the Lions country and prepare (mentally) for the first game of the Lions Challenge against the Russian Bears.
Doesn’t look like the weather will play the game this weekend so could be a poor handling affair.
See you all at Ellis Park.
Cheers all.
Having just registered and reading all the comments I notice there are supporters from all SA teams – very nice to see.
Looking forward to the banter once the season is under way.

Elton Jantjies father has died from a Bee Sting.
So terribly sad to have read that. He was only 46 so very young.
Feel for Elton and his brother and mother. A very sad day for them.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Elton and his family in this sad time.

Springbok and Stormers flyhalf Elton Jantjies’s father died after he was stung by a bee, according to Sunday’s Rapport newspaper.
Thomas Jantjies, 46, a warrant officer in the army, died in 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria on Saturday after complications from a bee sting.
It was always his dream that his sons, Elton, 22, and Tony, 20, would play for the national team.
Elton made his debut for the Springboks in September last year and Tony played for the Baby Boks against Ireland.
At the Stormers’ last training camp Elton said his father played a big role in his rugby career.
βHe would always help me with my kicking. When I am tired, he would push me. He is always the one who would say stay positive,β he was quoted as saying.
Tony plays for the Blue Bulls in Pretoria.
Funeral arrangements were not known.
