@ grootblousmile:I’m happy to keep an eye on the 6N games, if you want to put up an article
31 @ Just For Kicks:
I’ll put one combined Six Nations Article up… then you keep it up to date, OK?
@ grootblousmile: Good idea
Safraz gone. gone for 17. Good pocket in the slips by Biff off Abbots bowling.
Pak 132/6
…..And another, carbon copy of the last one. Smith pouches the nick. Abbott takes his 4th of the innings. Great bowling. next one is a hat trick ball. Ajmal gone for 0
No luck on the hat trick ball, but what a great start to his international career. Go boy.
36 @ Just For Kicks:
Hello JFK was just saying yesterday that it was a surprise for me to see the name KJ Abott on the team sheet so had a look at his stats and it looked to me like he was more a bowling all rounder with quite good bowling stats but not as impressive batting stats… well done to the selectors for throwing him in as so far looks to have justified his inclusion.
33 @ Just For Kicks:
Six Nations Article up and running, take it away!
And Abbott gets his fifer. Brillialnt, brilliant, brilliant, young man. Now, thats 2 members of the team that have made a fifer on debut (Big Vern) if my memory serves. Pretty impressive, hey?
So Adil goes, caught Faf off Abbott for 9. Pak 149/9
…..and another for him. Thats 6!!!!!!!!!
Pak 149/8
@ Bullscot:Yeah, always said that Kirsten has the most amazing vision. He certainly knows how to pick them and how to get the best out of them. Was listening to Paul Harris a while ago, and he was saying that a couple of years ago, Abbott was a rather portly fellow and was going nowhere. Then with Lance Klusener as mentor, he lost the weight, changed his attitude, and here he is. Just goes to show what you can do when you put your mind to it!
@ grootblousmile:OK, thanks
42 @ Just For Kicks:
Sounds like they have unearthed a good one there then JFK, interesting to hear a bit about his history, don’t have access to the footage to see what his bowling looks like but they have him listed as medium pacer, is he swinging the ball a lot to get his wickets. Well done Abott!
Abbott takes another, as Pakistan are rolled over for 156 as Khan is trapped leg before by Abbot for 33. Biff will surely enforce the follow on, even though it means SA may have to face spin on a turning wicket in the fourth innings
Pakistan all out for 156
Well, I can tell you that Biff has, indeed enforced the follow on, and also, more importantly, Kyle Abbott is just behind Klusener for wickets on debut (Klusener 8 wckts on debut) Abbott – 7 for 29 off 11.4 overs. Just awesome.
Certainly a very good debut performance by Abbott, can’t have been such a bowler friendly pitch if you see SA’s first innings score
Wow, a wicket off the 1st ball of Pakistan’s 2nd Innings…
So….. Pakistan already in trouble!
Stumps Day 2
Pakistan 14 / 1 after 9 overs
Pakistan still trail by 239 runs, 9 wickets standing
2nd wicket gone
Pakistan 87 / 2 after 37 overs.
Lunch, Day 3
3 rd wicket a run out
Pakistan now 101 / 3 after 43.2 overs
Pakistan 107 / 4 after 45.3 overs
Pakistan 118 / 6
Phweeeew
Pakistan 187 / 7 after 66.5 overs, still 66 short
Pakistan 202 / 8
Still 51 runs behind
Pakistan 202 / 9
1 Wicket needed for the win by SA
