Gooooooooooo Blomme!
London – The sight of England fast bowler Steven Finn knocking over the stumps in his delivery stride has led the MCC to draw up a new no-ball rule that will take effect in October, it was announced Thursday.
From October 1, if the bowler breaks the stumps at his end during the act of delivery, a no-ball will be called and signalled by the umpire said a statement issued by Lord’s based Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which still retains worldwide responsibility for cricket’s laws.
..

10 @ Ashley:
Hello Ash ag no thats not good
Pity to see that King Kallis is not playing, very difficult to replace a player like him, hope he recovers. Also hope Rory Kleinveldt does a good job in place of injured Morne Morkel.
Know have not always been following SA domestic cricket too closely so was surprised to see the name KJ Abott on the team sheet in King Kallis place. Had a look at his stats and although it would seem he is an allrounder he only has an batting average of 19.32 in all first class cricket and is listed as having played for Somerset 2nd’s, so really surprising to see his inclusion as that is not really for me shouting for test selection, although on the bowling front it looks reasonable with his 141 wickets coming for an average 21.58 runs which is quite good and at a strike rate of 47.6 balls, so seems he is more like a bowling allrounder than the batting allrounder genius Kallis that he is standing in for. All the best for the debut hope Kyle Abott has a very good game.
SA 145/3 – Amla 80 and de Villiers 29 at the crease
Sorry got the score wrong for de Villiers there, 29 was actually Faf’s score that he was out for.
SA now 153/3 Amla 83 and de Villiers 14 at the crease
South Africa 219/5 (57.0 ov)
Pakistan
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat
Day 1 – Session 3
South Africa RR 3.84
Last 10 ovs 27/1 RR 2.70
Min overs remaining 33.0
Arghh NO!!! SA 248/6 – Robin Peterson just run out for 28, just when it looke like a nice partnership with de Villiers was developing!
Triple nelson
Close of play SA 334/6 – de Villiers not out 98 so close to his century will have to sleep on it, Philander 45 not out, partnership so far is 86 runs, well done looks to me like in the end it was Proteas day.
SA 387 / 7 after 97 overs
The Proteas batsman to fall so far today was Big Vernon Philander on 74.
AB de Villiers still standing strong on 115.
SA 401/8 in the 101st over, quite a good run rate for tests but that is what happens at Centurion a small ground and good wicket which allows quick scoring
AB de Villiers was out for 128
SA all out for 409
Pakistan 56 / 3 after 21.3 overs
Pakistan 75 / 4
Pakistan 109/5
Umpires call for another LBW decision turned down by BBowden off Dales bowling. Edge, so wont be given
Although………could be pad first……………..tough call………
Not given. Looks like pad first, but not clear enough
