Penalty Staat, Willie Britz, the baardbos in from the side at the breakdown
Kick at goal by Brommer
Hits the upright, Lions run it
Lions over the halfway line
Halllloooo Webmonster, and fellow bloggers… it’s a nothing match, but it’s………..rugger after the long wait lol.
Go Cheeeetahs, smash these Lions, and start staking a claim for the final squad.
Lions now hard on attack
35 @ Cheetah4eva:
Helloooooooo
Lions penalty 8m out
Both sides with early season rust… and Marnus Schoeman is becoming a penalty machine
Lions over the line, but ball held up
5m Scrum for the Lions, attacking side
Willie die Baardman used to be the Shimlas cappie, not a bad player, but he was way behind in the pecking order at the Cheetahs
Stronger Lions scrum AGAIN
Again a Lions penalty…. touch judge report.
Could be a tip-tackle by Daniller
TMO has to decide on the foul play… looks like Rhule could be showed up as the offender
Not surprised our scrum is under pressure, the loosies are all featherweights compared to what the norm is for Super rugby. Only Lood de Jager and Uys top 110 kg’s behind the props.
Yellow Card to Raymond Rhule
45 @ Cheetah4eva:
It’s not as if 2 of the 3 Lions front rowers are monsters… or that they have experienced locks…. I’d be worried if I were you Staat supporters… about the scrums.
Lions tighthead is a Varsity Cup quality player….
Cheetahs get a turnover scrum, Robert Ebersohn holding the maul up….
Eish, not a good start by Rhule, but he is a fine prospect regardless, it’s only fair to give the lions cub a fair chance lol
Cheetahs Loosehead drops… and is also scrumming in… he needs to be penalized
Strong Lions scrum again and the Cheetahs get the ball under pressure from this important set piece
Knock by the Lions, but the Cheetahs are looking vulnerable
Lions with 69% possession so far
Piet van Zyl puts his backs under pressure as the Lions rush up in defence
@ grootblousmile:
Nah whats to worry about? We know that Caylib/Nyakane will be the LH, Strauss, Coenie, then with guys like Viljoen and vd walt packing down behind them, the Cheetahs scrum will be a different beast. The purpose is to see how Lood and de Klerk fare. I would rather worry about the Bools lol, you are down to mellet and Kirsten, who is also a bit of a sick note.
Try Lions… Ruhan Nel
Cheetahs 7 / 7 Lions
55 @ Cheetah4eva:
Keep making yourself believe…. it’ll help for a while
Nice try by Nel.
Good to see a fair amount of Supporters at the stadium.
