Stumps Day 1
Good day’s play for the Proteas. Good run rate, set to kick on tomorrow. Hash you beaut!
Tomorrow we must firstly bat New Zealand out of the match… set a target of 600, I would think.
@ grootblousmile:
I don’t see New Zealand having more than 350 – 400 in the tank, even if they fire.
36 @ Stormersboy:
Yip, that’s why I though we should get about 600, then we could force them to follow-on.
And it is raining in PE
And Cricket starts
Amla has to be one of SA best ever batsman. He is brilliant, fact is everytime he goes out there you almost always expect him to get a 100 or more. That alone tells how good he is.
See Sharks have announced their cricket team for tomorrow. All big names so hope no injuries from this game.
41 @ Puma:
Hello Puma why are the Sharks playing cricket should they not leave that to the Dolphins?
SA 376/5
Faf on 94 and Elgar 22 at the crease. Amla went early for 110.
42 @ Bullscot:
We are playing against the Dolphins. They done it last year as well. Just a fun day really. Though all big names in the Sharks team so really hope no injuries from this game. Not sure what it is in aid for think they do it for charity.
45 @ Puma:
Yeah thought it may be something like that Puma, think the Bulls sometimes play cricket as well pre-season, as you say just for fun and if its for charity its in a good cause, but with such a long season ahead you do wonder if its worth possible injury risk. Hope you doing well Puma.
Faf on 98, come on man get the 100
45 @ Puma:
Big question though Puma, will the Sharks prove to be as inept at playing cricket as the Dolphins??
Faf on 99 and he has stolen the strike at end of over with that single
eight balls without a run for Faf, nervous nineties??
Thats 3 maiden overs in a row for New Zealand, can’t wait any longer for Faf to get his hundred, hope he goes on to score loads more runs today
Lunch and Faf still on 99 was hoping for him to get his 100 before lunch.
46 @ Bullscot:
Yeah it is for a good cause, but if any pick up a injury here that will be a worry as S15 just around the corner now.
Here is our crici team for tomorrow.
The Sharks: Butch James, Keegan Daniel (c) Riaan Viljoen, J. Botes, Pat Lambie, Charl McLeod (wk) Cobus Renach, Frans Steyn, F. Van der Merwe, J. Deysel, W. Herbst, T. Mtembu, K. Cooper, S. Sithole, and Alberts.
Note there are 15 players and not 11. All big Shark Rugby players so most definitely do not want to see a injury come from this crici game.
meant = Reinach
Hellooooooo
Looks like the Ama-Blomme went reasonably well this morning, only Amla out and we’re almost at 400 runs.
Come on Faf, get your ton, but then go on and get a BIG score, you da man!!
Faf back on strike, to try and get the single for his ton…. and he goes to his ton with a marvelous 6!
Whoopie!
SA 400 / 5 after 121 overs
See you all later, need to go buy some Flash Harry and some bits and bobs…
Dean Elgar on 90… desperate for his 100 before the declaration
SA 505 / 7 after 148 overs… and they’re taking Tea.
SA in a marvelous position.
Come on Biff, give Elgar time to get his ton after Tea!
SA 505/7 – Elgar 91 batting with Steyn 4, hope Elgar gets to his first test century before he runs out of partners.
