Twenty-nine-year-old Bekker has a contract with Western Province until the end of 2013 and several European clubs have shown interest in signing him after the contract expires.
South African newspaper Die Burger have reported that Bekker is in demand so much that he can almost pick and choose where he wants to play after his Western Province runs out.
The paper reports that clubs in France, Ireland and England are chasing the Springbok lock while a contract renewal from Western Province could also be a factor.
Bekker’s main focus currently however is to return to the playing field after he missed the Springboks end of year tour due to an injury in his right toe.
The Stormers resumed their preparations for the 2013 Super Rugby season on Monday and captain Schalk Burger said that he was raring to go after missing all but the opening match in 2012.
The Stormers start their Super Rugby campaign on Friday the February the 22nd at Loftus Versfeld against the Bulls and are likely to hold warm up matches against the Cheetahs and Boland.
