Is that the second one Peterson has dropped? Not good
Bad drop by Petersen hey….
151 @ Just For Kicks:
Yip, No 2 for him
11 needed from the last over…
Well, what can the Blomme do now…
11 off 6. Thats what I call an exciting match!
Come on Kleinveld… you need to be spot-on!
10 needed off 5
9 needed off 4
7 needed off 3
5 needed off 2
Very bloody close!
4 needed off the last ball
4 from the last ball. Can they do it?
Must be in the block hole. full and straight
Guptill gets the 4… and New Zealand win on the last ball.
Guptill gets his ton too
Abd he does it. Well done Martin Guptil. Held his nerve, and deserves the win. Single handedly guided the Black Caps to a brilliant victory. Well done them.
All to play for in the rest of the series now. I like it!
Cheers GBS, a very happy Christmas to you and your family. Have a good one.
167 @ Just For Kicks:
Cheers Kickers.. have a very Merry Christmas in Mud Island, brother, send regards to Beanie and the kids.
Bad fielding by the Blomme… not what we’re used to from the boys
Well, all down to the last T20, Series squared 1 / 1 at the moment
One has to second-guess the fact that a frontline bowler like Dale Steyn was sent home to rest.
If we had taken this game, the Series was done and dusted… he could have rested then.
As it stands now, we have a fight on our hands in the last T20 to win or lose the Series. Not an ideal situation.
Complacency?
South Africa their own worst enemies today… and always.
OK, good night fellas…. Christmas Eve tomorrow….
Hope the presents are wrapped.
Joost van der Westhuizen is the best scrumhalf in the history of South African rugby – if not the world, Sport24 readers say.
Following comments from former All Black scrumhalf Justin Marshall that he regards Van der Westhuizen as the greatest No 9 in Springbok history, Sport24 readers have wholeheartedly agreed with his sentiments.
The Springbok legend, who was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in 2011, had only grown in Marshall’s estimation for the brave and resolute way in which he had come out supporting the fight against the disease.
Van der Westhuizen’s Test try tally of 38 makes him the leading scrumhalf try-scorer in Test rugby, and the second highest try-scorer in any position in Springbok history: a testament to his attacking brilliance.
This is what Sport24 readers had to say about Joost:
“Agreed.[He is the best ever].” – Squegee pilot
“From one great legend to the other! Dankie Justin Marshall, dit beteken baie vir ons en ek is seker vir Joost ook!” – Ruan Pretorius
‘I agree. Joost is definitely our greatest 9 with Fourie du Preez a close second. Unfortunately, currently, we have nobody of either stature in our team.” – Brian Exmachina
“It’s so true.” – John Luckhoff
“Joost is the epitome of Springbok rugby with his never say die attitude. He is determined to beat this MND thing and his resolve is admirable. ” – Sean
“Joost had it all on the pitch. The guy had sheer guts and determination and was king when it came to a battle of wits.” – S
“I have watched Springbok rugby for more than 60 years. He was the best I ever saw.” – Peter Phillips
“Indeed, he was the greatest scrumhalf of all time, I can’t see anyone filling his boots soon in the future, a true legend.” – gwvickers
“Joost was great. He is by far the best scrum-half from the modern era.” – chrisinoz.1
“Joost one of the best attacking scrumhalves (if not the best) ever.” – nico.eksteen
In what was arguably the biggest and most important cricket match in the last 3 years at Buffalo Park the twats that run cricket there and the Buffalo City Municipality couldn’t provide a venue with sufficient infrastructure integrity to get through the 20 overs game.
I would call them a bunch of wank**s, but I’m sure that collectively they incapable of fashioning an erection.
They should be rewarded, with at least 5 years without an international fixture of any sort in East London. Backwater!
174 @ superBul:
All the best over the festive season Super.
Here I do agree. Joost was our very best scrummie ever. He was better than Fourie and Joost’s style of play would have suited the Sharks style of rugby, the type I wish our Boks would play. Joost was brilliant no doubt about it.
Gbs,
Where is our Video Christmas Message? Thought it would be up by now to post our good wishes to all our fellow Rugby Talkers.
Will be doing it later, Oompie
