White was at a music festival in Canberra when he was hit from behind with a ‘king hit’, and is set for surgery on his jaw as a result.
The cowardly attack on White was not the only incident at the music festival with Rugby League player Blake Ferguson was ejected for allegedly spitting at patrons.
The Brumbies have investigated the incident internally and cleared White of any wrongdoing, and say he was unable to press charges as he was hit once from behind and didn’t see the aggressor.
Brumbies’ chief executive Andrew Fagan said that while the incident was disappointing, they believed 22-year-old White was not to blame.
“It was certainly an unfortunate incident, one in which one of our players was hit with no provocation and when people go to enjoy concerts, it’s unfortunate that these sorts of incidents can take place,” he said.
The scrumhalf will not miss any training and will continue to take party in the Brumbies’ pre-season training.
Looks like players from Aus can’t keep out of trouble. But it seems as if Evans was not looking for trouble.
