Everyone seems to be aspiring coaches and selectors and week after week we watch matches and air our views where we either slate the coach or sing his praises.

So, I would like to invite every Blogger to post his or her 23 players for the First upcoming Springbok Test against Ireland. Also I will put this up for each Test so we can eventually see who gets it right overall as well as each individual Test.

In the team you must choose from the players available and not players you are aggrieved about not being there, this is about trying to see if you can understand your Bok coach, it is not about whether you like or do not like him.

The team can be either about what the team should be as per your point of view, or if you are not sure select the 23 players as you think the coach will select, also remember with the new laws up north you need to have a full front row on the bench and thus the selection is now 23 players and not 22.

Take into account that we have no knowledge as to the 32nd player which has not been named yet, when this player is named and does play in the 1st Test you will get acknowledgement for that player.

@ grootblousmile: 😉 you gonna see boet, Lambie gonna have a blinder  thats a Sharkie promise :lol

    61 @ Sharks_forever:
Jeez man, Meyer is blind. Jaco was awful there.

I could have told you Lambie would be starting this week. Read it in our press and the Irish and Scots press. They seem to know more than we do it seems….lol. They said it would be JdJ to start though. So we may not know until the team is announced. If Lambie starts it will be Morne on the bench and not Elton. Well that is how I see Meyer going.

  • 65

Must say i would prefer a JDJ in place of Taute at 13

  • 66

    61 @ Sharks_Forever,

Another thing Jaco cost the Lions a cc final by messing up in the end as well, he was playing outside centre there too.

  • 67

    65 @ Sharks_forever:
I do too. Jaco should be on the bench if Meyer wants Zane to start. JdJ should really be starting no question. Feel for him now, jeez what does it take?

  • 68

    @ Puma:

Boet dont throw Morne away, i dont think he will be a abad option on the bench, his experience you cannot buy, and i reckon if thinks need to change in the match re game plan it is begtter to have a morne there that jantjies, for the simple reason is Jantjies plays more a Lambie style than Morne, Pienaar does have the MOrne playing ability though as i suggested earlier

  • 69

I think Meyer does not want to take a chance now with Jaco at the back, knowing Zane is solid and not having seeing Jaco play there for a long time now, he may not start with him there. Then why the hell at outside centre? He is not up to it there. JdJ must start.

  • 70

Well Pooms now we see why this cannot be easy for HM too 😆

    68 @ Sharks_forever:
I am not throwing Morne away, just thinking how the team will be if who starts who will be on the bench. If Lambie starts, Morne will most definitely be on the bench. If Elton starts Morne again will be on the bench. If Morne starts it will be Lambie on the bench. That is how I see it going.

Meyer might want Morne for the England test who knows. I would start with Lambie in all the tests, give him a full chance and then judge him. Just like he has given all his favourites a good chance he should do the same now for Lambie being really patient waiting his time. Jaco does not perform and gets a few chances. Same should be for all young players getting a chance. Just my feeling.

I tell you what if Lambie messes up even one kick, or kicks out on the full, or does not find touch when he should, misses a tackle he will be dropped mark my words he wont get another chance, like the others did. The pressure will be huge on him now because of that. Meyer should be fair to him like he has to the others.

Meyer made it hard for himself. If I was coach and given the talent we have in South Africa, I doubt it would be that hard to select…… Overjoy

    72 @ Sharks_forever:
I know we in this together, the reason us supporters are voicing our opinions. The time we don’t do that is the time we are not in it together, that is the time we just don’t care. Right now I care for our Boks and want to see the best selected and given a chance. Also our game plan, jeez they must work on that next year.

Read that Flo is still struggling with the neck injury, so Marcell might get to start. I actually do think it is a pity as Flo was playing superb. Rate Marcell though, just prefer him at 7 or probably at 8.

    @ Stormersboy:
This the team you think will play? or the one you would play with that players on tour?

  • 86

Meyer could be wanting to give each flyhalf a start in each game. Lambie against Ireland, Elton against Scotland and Morne against England? Could be the case, then it is crazy, as that does not allow continuity with the teams. So not sure if he will do that, but hey, it could happen.

JdJ should be starting this game though and Jaco either at fullback or on the bench.

  • 87

    86 @ Puma:
I don’t think Jaco Taute is bad at centre… I personally think he is better suited to fullback though.

He should get to start and star as Stormers fullback in 2013.

I think you’ve got a bee in your bonnet (above the rickety knees of course) about Jaco Taute and Duane Vermeulen….

    Hehehe

    85 @ Sharks_forever:
Think Flouw might still be struggling with that neck injury. Then without a doubt Marcell for 6.

    Butch James
Springbok flyhalf Butch James has confirmed that he will play for the Sharks in next year’s Super Rugby competition.

He was in Durban last week for medical tests after his contract at the Lions was not renewed.

And on Monday James, 33, announced via his twitter account that a deal has been sealed with his former team. “Officially Black & White for next year! Its good to be home!!” he tweeted.

James will be backup flyhalf to Patrick Lambie and will be used in a mentor-type role by the Durban franchise.

“We want to use Butch as a mentor for the younger players – he will specifically be utilised to help players with their goal-kicking as well as tactical kicking. He will work closely with young flyhalves like Fred Zeilinga (under-21 player),” Rudolf Straeuli, the commercial manager of the Sharks, said last week.

    87 @ grootblousmile:
He was terrible against ABs boet he cost us, his tackling was very, very poor. He was not that great either against Oz. I would have started JdJ for this game, seeing that Jaco is Meyer’s fullback first choice as he has said that is where he want’s Jaco to play. So why keep Juan out then and play a player that is playing out of position? Doesn’t make sense.
