Australia and the South African Proteas do battle in the 2nd Test of the Series in Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.
The game takes place mostly in the middle of the night for South Africans, so live updates will not be given accross the board, but updates will be done in the mornings.
On a belter pitch, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. After a massive start by Australia with the bat on Day 1, hitting close to 500 runs, South Africa was always going to be on the back foot. A super fight back followed by South Africa and on Day 5 of the Test South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers still had a mountain to climb to save the match with South Africa on 77 / 4, still 355 runs short and only 6 wickets in hand. Each batsman pitched in, dug deep, and Faf du Plessis (playing in his maiden Test) held out right until the end, seeing 4 wickets fall around him.
The match ended in a draw, well saved by South Africa.
Australia: 550 All Out & 267 / 8 Declared (70 overs)
South Africa: 388 All Out & 248 / 8 (148 overs)

Laat ek weer raas:
Bidi, we need one of hussey or Clarke very quickly 2morrow, then it’s their tail, also their 1 bowler(Pattinson) is injured so cannot bowl and probably wont bat,
68: yes, sien vanmiddag vir die …… Lambie Show ! 😉
i am now so die moer in
Did you know that

@ ashley:
ADD that to previous post
Sex is not the answer. Sex is the question.
“Yes”
is the answer.
Cricket…..ho hum
loosehead @ 74
add the angry one and thats about all the emotions we went through in this test series, lol
Women are the only species that defy the laws of gravity,
the more they weigh, the easier they are to pick up
@ ashley:
Good one, strangely I hadnt heard that one before
@ ashley:
Scores updated till Stumps, Day 3
Going to be incredibly hard to try survive this one even if the wicket was flat, question is will they manage to stick it out for a good long time or will it be a procession of wickets in the first session of the day and maybe all over by lunch? Come on Proteas show some guts, no silly shots etc.
Looks like there area a few showers around the Adelaide area but they moving quite quickly, maybe SA batsmen could get a little help from these at first but the Aussie Bureau of Met mentions isolated showers in the Adelaide area and even some thunderstorms, but these getting less likely into afternoon, our luck they will probably all miss the Adelaide Oval.
Think nothing will save us today, Australia always play (in all sport) at their best when they take on the best.
Thats why they always annoys the AB,s when the AB,s go for the World record.
Thats why they perform beyond themself when they take on the no. 1 bowler, Steyn.
SA is ranked 1 in Cricket.
But i can see also that Australia is benefiting from the inside man, how could SA allow Micky Arthur to go when he was clearly coaching SA well?
Hou Manne Hou!!!
Skitterend Proteas, hierdie draw is soos ‘n oorwinning. AB, Kallis en veral Faf, ysters !
AWESOME Proteas! Almost felt like we won this test…haha. Getting a draw here is just brilliant.
Faf and Kallis superb.
All to play for now in Perth. Going to be a exciting finish now.
Bring it on!
Well played manne.
All to play for in the final test.
82 @ superBul:
Super,
We done it again Boet….hahahaha. Remember MCG 2008? This felt something like that, well sort of, there we went on to win, but jeez thought we had no chance here today. WE got the DRAW! heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Awesome, now for Perth. Can’t wait.
86 @ Stormersboy:
Going to be a exciting finish. Never gave us a chance for a draw here, we done it, feels just awesome to hold the Aussies to a draw.
Bring it on in Perth! 🙂
@ Puma:
Yes, great start to the week!
We have some decisions to make for the final test.
Rudolph?
Tahir?
Kleinveldt?
Kallis probably won’t bowl.
Take a bow Faf. That was awesome for a debut test, getting 110.
