The Port Elizabeth-based team on Wednesday added Lions and Springbok hooker Bandise Maku, Argentina scrumhalf Nicolas Vergallo and Auckland Blues back Hadleigh Parkes to their ranks.

Kings president Cheeky Watson said the trio will add huge value to the team.

“They bring wonderful experience, Bandise’s (Maku) played at the highest level and his coming back home.

“Vergallo, we’ve seen him play for Argentina so I think he’ll add tremendous value to the Kings. Hadleigh Parkes has played for the Blues in Super Rugby which will also add much value to the Kings,” said Watson.

Other recent signings from the Kings, who will play Super Rugby next year at te expense of the Lions, include WP flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis, Cheetahs centre Andries Strauss and Sharks lock Steven Sykes.

When are the Lions going to learn to put a clause into their players’ contracts that if they are out injured for an extended period of time and are unable to play, then the contract must be extended by that period of time?

Surely it’s not freeking rocket science?

Maku and Rhodes have been out virtually for the season, (Rhodes since last season) and now that they’ve been rehabilitated at the GLRU’s expense we just let them up and fukc off.

Should make the cnuts sit around and do f all for a few months.

Anyway Mr Rhodes, you were sh1tall when the Lions dragged you out of obscurity from the Sharks second stringers, they turned you into something, but the Stormers will turn you back into sh1tall. That’s what they do best to players they poach.

You and your schoolboy buddy Cilliers who was also fukcall until the Lions taught him how to scrum, can pick up your small bag containing 30 pieces of silver each as you pass the tollgate at Grasmere. Don’t come back you pair of turncoats!

Apparantly nothing has been finalised according to Maku’s Twitter comment this morning: “No decision has yet been made on my future. You guys will be among the first to know what I decide”

    @ Lion4ever:
    Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

Puke’s old man wouldn’t announce it publicly if it weren’t already so, and if he did, well then he’s as big a fool as the Lions collective management.

    @ grootblousmile:
The Lions’ management are as much to blame as the players, but in truth both those pansy Private School Natal Gentlemen were F All when the Lions took them on and gave them exposure.

I wish them both every success, just as every other player that WP have poached in the past has had.
