Well last week all sorts of surprises, so lets see what happens this time, see if the Cheetahs can bounce back. My money for this one will be on the Bulls, based purely on last weeks form
In memory of this game I bring you the Freestate 16 man defense Badehoff style Kaalgat and unplugged
Goooooooooo Blou Janneeeeeeee!
hak, hak die Bulle is kak![but will still klap the Cheetahs]
Mooi man!
Ek was daar, daai kaalgat tekkel kos ‘ons’ (ek was destyds nog n onskuldige, getroue, pre-Lucas Watsonbi- WP-ondersteunertjie)die Curriebeker.
Ons het met die ‘Wyntrein’ van die Kaap Bloemfontein toe gery vir die wedstryd, lekker dae gewees, my WP-dae (sug) …..aaag jaaa swaer….
Me a lost WP supporter as well there in thry Freestate. I remember those days for 15 Rand you get the ticket and buy one of those huge Freestate 1 liter Freestate bottles with your coke in. But for us kids was the tonneltjie satan tradition which they had there. Then the interaction with the players after the game. Guys like Pote Human will sign autographs for like 30 to 40 minutes after the games. Friendly bunch. But that incidents ended it. I wasn’t at that match but I remember that incident clearly. We were all sitting in the living room whole family and you guys know how the furniture gets rearranged in such games when your team goes on the attack. We were like yelling which was interrupted by a sudden WTF. We didn’t know if we had to laugh or cry. We laughed but boy that Freestate stadiumwith that ugly track caused some heartbreak for WP.
The broke Calla Scholtz legs there. Many a dream ended there. But one other incident I really remember well was when Lourens Prinsloo crossed the NTVL goalline for the winning score. But he decided to go and put it behind NTVL posts and got tackled over the dead ball line by I think Richter or Fourie or someone. Freestate lost and NTVL went through to the final think it was the Lion Cup
Hello all I see its Friday night and yet another game for the Blue Bulls, it seems to me that the Blue Bulls/Bulls have to play quite a lot of their games on Friday nights, this may just be a perception would be interesting GBS if you had the numbers for say the last two seasons to compare if we do indeed play more Friday games than the other teams. Anyway GO BULLS!
@ 7andaBokJan:
Many memories, bad and good, at Free State Stadium….:
Roger Bourgarel, a small French winger (first ‘black’ player to ever set foot on that ‘holy ground’) tackled Frik du Preez onto the athletics track and nearly ‘took his lights’ out, 1972 first test;
Chris Burger(WP fullback) and Rampie Stander(Springbok prop and Bloemfontein attorney both died after they collapsed on the pitch (broken neck and heart attack);
Pierre Spies scored a dramatic Currie Cup winning try minutes before the final whistle in 1976;
Chris Luther (NTvl fullback) kicked the longest placed penalty kick in SA history, 73 meters measured (and that with the old SuperSpringbok real leather ball!;
Brian Baenhoff tackles WP ‘kaalgat’ out of Currie Cup (video footage above);
Naas Botha attacked with a biltong knife in the tunnel after a winning performance;
Gert Potgieter, Paul Nash and Jaco Reinach broke SA athletic records that were never surpassed in more than a decade thereafter;
………………………oh, and Louis Luyt became a provincial lock there, hehehehehe!
…………..proba
Bullejanne !
Klap daai Cheetha-janne hard wat vir die EP Queens gestem het !
@ BullscotBokJan:
Bulls have to play on Friday nights because need their Saturday evenings for some ‘quality time’ at home (braaivleis and pap, Klippies and Coke, vetkoek and syrup, checking on the wifey and kids)…..there is more to life than rugby, you know @ BullscotBokJan:

Haha and Leon Schuster taking piss of Naas Currie Cup final day year after year
To me Free State slipped a bit in my estimations… having voted against the Lions for 2013 Super Rugby participation
@ smal jan planne:
