Wicket. Philander stumped Prior, bowled Swann for 61
All out for 309.
Now hope we come out and take a quick wicket and unsettle them.
Go get em Boys.
So that brings the innings to a close. There is the odd whisp of a cloud, so lets hope the Protea bowlers can utilise the swing, movement and pitch as well as Anderson did
sa 309 all out
now lets see what we can do with the ball
@ BokJan For Kicks:
@ PumaSpringbokJan:
Agree with a lot of what both you fellers are saying. I think England opened the door to this whole business when they made it easy for foreign born players to get into their national teams, for their own selfish benefit of course. Now they are complaining. If you want to maintain the country against country tests you have to have players playing for national pride, otherwise it’s just glorified professionalism. This 3 year residency thing is a load of crap. Look at all the Saffers in the Italian rugby team, and they can’t even speak Italian and have f-all knowledge or feel for Italian culture. You can’t blame the players. They are just doing the natural thing of going where the grass is greener. I would say that you should not be allowed to represent a country unless you are born there or have at least 10 years residency.
Eishhhh, I’d hoped we would still be batting, after getting back.
Well, 309 not to shabby after a very kak start.
Now our bowlers must get stuck in and get some early wickets, to even things out.
There is still a bit of cloud cover. So hope we can get some swing. Once that cloud goes we may struggle to bowl them out.
Go Proteas. Go get em!
Is Graeme BokJan Smith out yet?
125 @ Gobble_BokJan:
Agree. Unless you are born there or have lived there for 10 years. That would be fine with me the 10 year period.
Did you read that clip that Kickers put up on post 89? Well it did get my blood to boil. Eish! The English want it all their own way buddy.
128 @ LosBokJanKoppie:
haha. We are going to bowl.
@ Gobble_BokJan:Hi Turky, I don’t have such a problem with guys playing for other countries, if they fulfil the residency requirement. But then don’t treat them as aliens when you’ve let them in. By the same vein, if you leave a country, don’t slag it off for no good reason a la Pietersen or Rathbone.
losbokjankoppie @ 128
ja nê? those were the good old days! 😉
Not a lot happening for Morne. Sun really shining through now
pumaspringbokjan @ 130
loskoppie, is refering to the time when greame smith went through a rough patch and didnt last long. someone back then (was it here on rt?) started asking this question even before smith went out to bat. now loskoppie uses it sommer even if smith isnt batting, lol
133 @ BokJan For Kicks:
Just as I thought. They had the best out of that wicket to bowl. If we can get a few wickets today it is on. Well a draw or a win. Any will do. Just don’t let them win this.
@ PumaSpringbokJan:
Yes, read that. England is just going through a bit of a nationalistic phase now after the Olympics. They are actually one of the, if not the most accepting countries for foreigners. Of course there are wankers, as there are all over the world and sometimes people can just be tossers. I wouldn’t generalise mate. It would be doing the same thing you are unhappy with Osborne about. Our sad, benighted, beloved country has a tragic history and it’s wounds run deep and bitter. It is going to take a lot to bring us through, if we ever make it. Always easier to run the other down
@ BokJan For Kicks:
Ciao Kickers. The thing is that players are only human and it is human nature to want to fit into the group. That short residency is not a lot of time to prove that you belong to the group, so some people feel like they have to slag off the group they have just left so as to prove their loyalty to the new group.
134 @ jan_vaaljan_die_springboksupporter_jan_uhm_jan!:
😆
Though he has batted quite well in this series.
@ Gobble_BokJan:
And the new group always eyes them with suspicion and so as soon as they perform or act below expectation, that distrust surfaces.
136 @ Gobble_BokJan:
Yip I know our history and all that. However if one of ours are playing for them then they should accept him warts and all. They only truely accepted him when he was playing well for them. Then again it was not right for KP to do what he had done.
I can tell you if they lose this test or draw it, they will blame KP…. LOL.
Come on, moer the Poms!
Flokken Bleekbene!
@ PumaSpringbokJan:
Yip, not saying it’s right of them, just that they’re human. So we have to take human psychology into account and the new boy is always going to be easier to scapegoat when things go wrong.
Then the other parts of the article is where Osborne mentions white saffers not being loyal to their birth country and betraying Mandela’s legacy etc…We know what the presures are that are driving white saffers abroad and that’s where I was referring to our country’s history…
Wicket. Strauss bowled by Morne for 20
But all that kuk aside let’s just root for the Proteas to rip the pommies new butt holes so they can have even more orifices to complain with.
@ BokJan For Kicks:
I wonder if Strauss gave his wicket away to his country of birth
@ Gobble_BokJan:Hahaha, I can just imagine him walking out to the crease thinking, “I’ll flok you yet, Osborne”!
phew
wicket at last!!
@ BokJan For Kicks:
No, I think he thought to himself, “Osborne, I’m going to show you what a coont you are”
143 @ BokJan For Kicks:
HeeeHaaa. I missed it eating some lunch. That could be a start.
Just listening to Mike Horn on Supersport. Sheez, no wonder the boys are fired up – just listening to him, I’d follow him anywhere. And I don’t even know the man!
