Jeez the two countries I asbolutely hate losing to in cricket is Australia and England. Really hope we can manage a draw here. Then we win the series.
We have Oz coming up next to play too.
Rudolph and Duminy really have to come to the party now. Eish, AB has been dismissed in the forties 3 times in a row now. A slump? The wicket keeping affecting him?
Eish… 6 down and only 262 now the lead…. we need Rudolph and Duminy to bat really well!
Jeeez, Rudolph almost out, raising his backfoot and almost getting stumped.
Would have been such a stupid mistake.
That appeal smacked of desperation and unsportsmanship in my book
365 @ Just For Kicks:
Was freegin close though!
365 @ Just For Kicks:
Game still on a knife edge….
@ grootblouBokJan:I reckon 40 runs, no wickets, it’s ours, but any wickets go down now, and its Englands to win. This partnership is absolutely crucial. We cannot rely on Philander and Morkel, good as they are, again
I spoke too soon, and Finn gets Rudolph. Gone for 11, caught behind. Real trouble now
We lose another wicket. We will allow England too much time to bat. Damn man, hope we can hang on with the batsmen we have left. Come on boys just stay focused. Still another 3 hours until close or 3 and a half.
Oh shit… 7 down!
Hope Philander and Duminy can just do the impossible and bat until close. Jeez that is 3 hours still.
Just hope we can.
Okay catch up later.
According to ESPN, England’s highest successful chase at Lord’s is 282. We’re 284 ahead now, lets hope the mind games start creeping in!
Don’t know how long till tea, after that rain storm
If England are hoping to get as much time in the field as possible to knock off the runs, they really are doing themselves no favours persisting with the short balls soooooo much. Surely if the plan is not working you try something else. Mix them up a bit, but short, short short, and the batsmen start reading you like a book, and will just continue to duck. I just don’t think, in this situation Philander is going to get suckered into the pull shot. It’s first and foremost defence at the moment. We’re batting for time now.
Another milestone reached with that Philander 4 – the 300 comes up on the board. 302/7
Aaaaaah, thank you Atherton, 1 over before tea
One good thing…..its no longer a new ball.
Next target reached – we now lead by 300
I think we can say that this is a 300 run/innings pitch, and no one can ever prove us wrong!
Tea. SA 306/7
Fark, 30 overs remaining in the day… we would want to bat for at least 20 of those, I would think!
We need 350 and another 90 minutes with bat in hand and we’ll win here.
Remember England have to win and aggressive batting will give us more chances with a new ball before close and tomorrow morning.
Pitch looks rather difficult now… some bounce, some spin, some don’t spin…
At least the Ama-Blomme have by now put the highest Innings of the match on the board…
318 / 7
Easy Vern….moenie jou wicket mou wegsmytie, my broe…
385 @ fender:
Dink ons so dieselfde daar… myne dalk net so in minder kleurvolle taalgebruik…
Gee, you gotto love Michael Holding’s languid Jamaicanese!
Lekker 4 by Philander… goodie
With 116 overs at least left in the match, if England go into bat now, they will be required to score at 2.7/over. We need to bat on, it’s too easy
387 @ fender:
Yip… better accent than a lot of the Poms… hehehe
