330 @ PumaSpringbokJan:are you watching the thing on t.v. at the moment? Very interesting insight into KP
Play scheduled to restart at 14.55. Covers have been taken off. Not much time has been lost
Brilliant, Hash goes to his 2nd ton at Lords. 100 off 182 balls. Very good effort by a fine batsman
KP back to playing for his county gets bowled first ball for a duck – it just doesn’t get any easier for the poor lad
New ball taken. Tough period for the Proteas, as the first ball swings
Eish, reshowing KP’s dismissal for the 3rd time isn’t going to make it any easier for him. How he must think the whole world is against him.
Hash gets his hundred and surely Man of the Series!
Gee, don’t we just hate that bloody quota system?
I think if we can get to 300 by tea for the loss of no wickets, we will be in the pound seats. Go on to make 400/450 and give ourselves enough time to bowl them out tomorrow and we could still take this.
@ fender:Certainly deserves to be MOTS. Quota’s are always going to be a problem, and one we have to live with. Like I said somewhere else, I have no problem with someone playing for another country if they fulfil the playing requirements, but just don’t be negative about the country you leave, or you lose all respect, and that was proved in that piece.
JFK, in my opinion Amla never was a quota player: he deserved his place based on his recognised talent and weight of runs in 2004/5 and was dropped like any player would be after not performing.
@ fender:Absolutely, sorry, I wasn’t referring to Amla, I thought you had watched the programme on tv, and were commenting about the quota brought up in that, which was totally different
….and then he came back and performed to the potential that was recognised at an early age.
But of course the warm blankes who called him ‘quota’ won’t recognise that now….and neither do I expect them too.
So we have a lead of 244 now. All we need is a draw here so hoping we are still batting by close today. We lose one wicket we seem to lose the others quick then it will still allow England to come back at us. For now we doing very well. Amla is just superb. Will be man of the series for sure.
331 @ Just For Kicks:
No missed that.
No, I got you the first time JFK.
Ja, Pietersen will learn that arrogance has a limited shelf life and can only get you so far..
Amla finally bowled by Finn. 121 runs, very well done Hash
Damn, Hash tagged by Finn again!
Amla gone damn that is a big blow to our chances. Hope we just keep focused here.
Well done Amla, that was a awesome knock. Definitely my man of the series.
This must be Englands last throw of the dice. Can they rattle off the next 5 wickets cheaply? If they can, they’re still in with a chance
England will sniff a chance now. Stay focused boys. Need to still be batting until close tonight.
I also never agree bringing in a nights batsmen, for me it just is a waste of a wicket when they go early. AB should have come in last night and we could still have had Dale to come in later. He can bat some down the order. Anyhow now these two must just stay focused we need to still be batting by close tonight.
LBW decision for AB referred. This could be a big turning point
….and they lose their last referral
Dale did hang around for awhile this morning, but it was still a waste of a wicket bringing him in instead of AB.
Oh damn. Just what I was afraid of. We lose one the rest go easy.
Okay we got that one right. Not out. Good now stay focused.
De Villiers gone for 43. Caught Strauss, bowled Finn. Could be trouble now
Damn, great delivery gets AB!
AB gone now. Damn like I said the thing I was dreading. One goes the rest go easy.
Damn now hope we can still bat this out today.
