Whoopie, KP Pietersen perishes…
England 21 / 1
Pieterson goes, what a shame, I am sure that effectively shuts down any chance of England chasing now
KP caught Tahir off Philander for 12
Oh yes I am bad luck
….and then they bring in Strauss. England, Smith was man enough to give you a real sporting chance, repay the compliment. Send in Prior at least to have a go.
155 @ Just For Kicks:
England going at a fair clip… but I seriously doubt they can do it in the remaining overs (34)
Can we bowl them out… when will England just start blocking balls and give up on the win?
Seems England still believes… in themselves
Come on SA, lets get 10 wickets here
Hell, I don’t like it when they get 12 or 9 off an over… last one off Philander just went for 9
This is easy 234 you get easy at 6 RPO. Seven or 8 a over would have been dufficult
@ grootblousmile:6.5 per over here on in. they only need to start blocking after another couple of wickets fall
160 @ Just For Kicks:
Just blocking is often more dangerous for the batting side than trying to reach a total… errors tend to easily creep in, and the bowlers start gaining confidence when that happens
maiden over, takes the run rate up to nearly 6.7/over
6.68 needed per over now…. creeping up, gradually
sorry, forgot about the leg bye in there
2 Or 3 great bowling overs will surely put it beyond realistic reach…
England going at 5.47 runs per over at the moment
31 overs left current rate 5.45
Come on Ama-Blomme… 2 quick wickets will send some shivers down the Pommies backs!
Bowling seems to be tightening a bit now….
Forget about the run rate. Wickets in hand overs left is a better indication. They got 9 guys left to score 211 which is T20 par standards
Run-rate required ever increasing…
6.96 per over required… 30 overs remaining
Strauss tends to leave quite a bit more compared to Cook
T20 of 20 overs 180 runs is easy gettable
Come on Cook, cut one onto your stumps….
SA bowlers astound me with the lines they are bowling, far to close to leg stump
… then they bowl a sitter far enough outside off-stump, begging to be clobbered.. and is
England still going for it, if only half-heartedly
178 @ Just For Kicks:
They’re keeping the run-rate pegged at below 7.. so far
Danger man here seems to be Cook
