Bell and Trott batting at a hell of a clip… we need to break this partnership… and quick
Looks like SA got quite a decent score in the end, the kind of score that England would need to chase after righ from the outset rather than just be able to play comfortably for a while, looks like Bell has picked up where he left off last Friday, must get him out quick he can be quite destructive in this mood.
150 @ Just For Kicks:
That is some rumour about Robbie Deans then, wonder how much substance it has, mmmm SOS to Jake White…??
150 @ Just For Kicks:
It’s middle of the night now in Ozzie, so I suppose we’ll know about it in the morning….
@ JanMurrayBok:Guess we’ll find out when Australia wakes up.
154 @ grootblouBokJan:Haha, great minds….
England 50 / 1 after just 9 overs….. eishhhh
156 @ Just For Kicks:
Snap!
…. crackle & pop…
Fark, get Bell!
England 54 / 1 after 10 overs
I’m not impressed with our bowling line up. Parnell has never impressed me, McLaren not taken the step up, and both very erratic. Robin Peterson good, but not great. Tsotsobe excellent bowler, but expensive. That leaves Morkel – also erratic and expensive, especially in ODI’s. Not a huge amount to write home about, unlike the test side.
Also this wicket isn’t doing a lot, so as long as the batsmen dig in – a la Hashim Amla – the poms could well take it. If we don’t take any wickets soon, they will win
Absolutely brilliant catch by Elgar over his shoulder in the deep. Trott gone for 23 off Morkels bowling
Eng 64/2
Would really like to see Bell go now, he is the key, I think
On the news: Bok team will be announced tomorrow.
And Bell is gone. Bowled Peterson for 45 of 41 balls. Eng 77/3. Good wicket, just at the right time too.
Morgan isn’t too shabby a batsman either. Known to score at a brisk pace
165 @ dWeePer:There can only be one reason – injuries. If the coaches/selectors are still mulling over the side and it is not injury based, then we really are in serious trouble
And Bopara goes. Holes out to extra cover for 16. Caught du Plessis. Bowled Peterson. Eng 90/4
Duminy’s first ball turns a bit
Seems that SA has pegged the England run-rate back a bit, they are about equal to our run-rate at comparable overs…. but they are 4 wickets down….
England 95 / 4 after 20 overs
I think we need a couple of medium pacers here, looks very difficult to get the ball away, but no one to take that role – we need the king!
1st 6 of the match – very unusual for a ODI
Expensive over from Duminy – 11 runs from it
I don’t think even Peterson himself knows when the ball is going to turn
Amla off the field with a back injury. Slipped in the out field
My worries over McLaren coming to the fore now. He’s spraying the ball all over the place. Not one ball in the right spot the entire over
Ahhhh, Kieswetter is out… another wetter gone
England 118 / 5
Kieswetter gone, caught Smith. Bowled Elgar for 20. Eng 118/5. Niiiiice!!!
