Watched on by a 25,000-strong home crowd, the hosts led the Top 14 side 16-12 at half-time but lost their way after the break.
“This is an incredible victory,” said Stade Français captain Sergio Parisse.
“We knew this game would be very difficult.
“I do not think we’ve seen a great rugby match tonight because there was not a lot of pace, but most important is that we begin our tour well.”
