France spreading there ball wide, spending a lot of time in the Aussie half.
Australia making too many simple errors, and allowing the french to edge ahead
Australia starting to get a bit of momentum now, a penalty for posts missed, and a couple more to touch is starting to see them camped down in the French 22
Another shot at post by the Aussies fluffed, oh dear.
Aus get a penalty on half time, on the halfway line. Mat Lucas going for posts. But no luck. Thats 3 kicks for posts missed by the Wallabies. Banana’s
Samoa have come back with 2 tries before half time to go down the tunnel with the lead
Sounds like there may be a bit of an injury list for Heyneke Meyer after yesterdays clash with England. It will only be made official tomorrow, But it’s not looking good for Lambie, Kruger or Alberts
Early penalty for the French as the second half begins for taking out a player in the air. But short of the posts
Fijians battling hard to keep up with the Samoans have a try disallowed as TMO was inconclusive
Eventually they get in though from a free kick.
Big barney in the Aus/French match
Results in 1 yellow to the French for a late trip, that seemingly started the brawl
Eventually, after 55 minutes, and 3 misses, the Aussies, through Mat Lucas get on the score board
And from the kick off, the Aussies score under the posts
French with a driving maul are pushed into touch just before the Aussie line
France camping on Aus line. A couple of penalties, finally results in try to give them back the lead
Samoans also slot a penalty to put them further ahead
Aussie hit back with another try from a quick taken line out, French fast asleep
A top drop by the French, puts them back into the lead with 7 minutes to go
Fiji desperate for a consolation try with 4 minutes left, 5m out, but Samoan defence holding out, and the Fijians knock on
French take this one
Fijians do get a consolation try eventually, but can’t slot the conversion
Final Score – France 19/17 Australia
Final Score – Fiji 20/29 Samoa
Ciao Kickers. What you doin’ here? Not out partying and getting drunk and feeling up young boys with Smiles?
Ireland/England, and Wales/New Zealand up next
@ The_Young_Turk:Hi Turky, that was yesterday. Had to get back at sparrows this morning for work!
So, seriously, how was your day yesterday? Was it strange not blogging during the test and what was your impressions of the rugby?
@ The_Young_Turk:Very weird, I wanted to keep getting my computer and saying something!!! Was a great day, both GBS and Pietman in top form. Kuiered till 3 am this morning, was great to finally meet them both. As for the rugby, eish, may as well have been a Stormers match – great first half, and lousy second. Looks like HM may have to ring the changes if the injuries come true, and if M Steyn isn’t injured, someone should kick him in the shins, sharpish, so he is injured! If Alberts, Lambie, J Kruger are out, and F Steyn won’t be there because of his wedding, it will be a very different team lining up next weekend.
Nice crowd starting to gather at Newlands, good to see, especially for a Sunday evening
A baby haka with a lot of hissing. Just doesn’t seem right somehow!
