Springboks 36 / 27 England (Final score)
South Africa and England did battle in the Second Test at Coca-Cola Park, Johannesburg at 17:05 SA Time.
This was the live match discussion Article.
The match was broadcast LIVE on SuperSport 1, SHD & M-Net on TV in SA.
An effervescent Springbok side built up enough of a lead with 3 first half tries to keep the English winless in the series, which SA have now secured.
Man Of The match: JP Pietersen
The English can take heart from a spirited comeback that got them within 4 points of the Boks with less than 10 minutes to play. Their forwards particularly took the game to the Bokke in the second stanza who seemed to be somewhat disrupted by the substitution, both forced and tactical.

@ bdb:
So that means Kirchner comes back into the team. If Kruger is injured, who is going to replace him?
@ The_Young_Turk:
And who is our flyhalf cover… Ruan?
@ Scrumdown:
Yep….but feel the Welsh have reached their peak….might improve slightly in the near future, but they lost to the Wallabies again today, and let’s face it..Auz don’t deserve their 2nd IRB log position atm. Their clubs are nowhere near as good as SA and NZ’s this year. The Welsh should have taken it easily if they claim they are so good (always giving it this and that before each game). I bet the Welsh forums is again full of ” We should have won the game”….or ” we were the better team”
jantjes is in die groep, is die volgende losskakel.
241@ The_Young_Turk:
Lock is a major problem. We need a sub who can cover lock and blindside flank. Daniels is too light at scrum time when it matters most.
@ bdb:
So Eben has to play number 5 lock then. A lot of pressure on the new cap but I think he’s good enough to handle it.
244@ bos_otter:
Trust me, the Welsh are like that in life as well!
Haven’t had a world beating Rugby team since the mid 70’s. THINK they’re better than they are.
@ bdb:
Forgot about Jantjies. Wouls rather play him than Stain. We need to replace Daniels on the bench.
Have to give it to the Eng manager….he done wonders in a very short time…..watch this Eng team.
Lambie
Juandre
Alberts
ander ?
@ Scrumdown:
The only one would be Elstadt, but he is not in the group.
247@ The_Young_Turk:
Franco is a 5 lock. He won’t let the side down, but then Flip has to bench again.
Has Eben played 5 before?
252@ The_Young_Turk:
Serving a 1 match ban from Super Rugby, so don’t think he can come into the group now, but maybe for the future.
@ Scrumdown:
Yip, Eben can play 5, so that means Franco and Flip on the bench again as you say.
@ Scrumdown:
lol…I know all about it buddy. I work with some of them. Hate there guts…I really do. They have the worst record against SA compared between Scotland,Ireland and England….hec…Scotland managed to beat us 5 times before….the Welsh….only once….and that is in 100 years…plonkers!
@ Scrumdown:
Ah yes, forgot about that ban. Any case it seems then that it is going to be Eben and Franco with Flip on the bench. Suddenly not looking so classy. Pity Langbek is also injured.

was suppose to be “hate their guts”
….die bier maak my verkeerd spel
255@ The_Young_Turk:
If he can play 5, start with him and Flip at 4, then Franco on the bench.
Could work.
Just Flip’s discipline is always questionable.
Is Jacques Potgieter beseer, indien nie, sal hom in Keegan se plek sit. Hoop nie Alberts is uit nie.
@ bdb:
@ bdb:
Yip, first win the farking match before you fark with the substitutes. Don’t know why the farking modern coaches feel obliged to bring on the bench. If you don’t need a change, keep the run on guys on the field.
256@ bos_otter:
A very strange nation indeed!
Would be a massive blow if Alberts is out. Have to look at a wider circle of players now. Can’t just stick to the group as is.
261@ bdb:
Couldn’t agree more. One for the future. Big, hard and abrasive. Tall enough to play 2nd row as well.
Northern hemisphere zip vs Southern hemisphere again this weekend….Northern hemisphere just not anywhere close and up to standard. Things are changing though…Wales.Scotland,Ireland and England showing a lot of promise this weekend
@ bdb:
He also got rattled when the Boks were struggling. Usually he has better BMT and he has also had bad games for the Bulls. No longer so reliable.
