Last week we reported that the meeting between the Super Rugby participating SA Franchises and SARU was to be continued on Monday.

Well today was Monday and SARU has the following to report:

sarugby

A number of options for Vodacom Super Rugby participation in 2013 were discussed by a meeting of South Africa’s franchises and South African Rugby Union leadership in Johannesburg on Monday.

SARU CEO, Jurie Roux, said: “It was a very positive meeting and we now have a number of options for participation on which the franchises are agreed. Those options will go to the Exco for consideration and ultimately to the General Council for a decision.”

The next meeting of the SARU General Council is scheduled to take place on 13 July.

Christmas is scheduled for the 25th December, but I am sure that SARU will be able to successfully change that too

    Bunch of freegin soft-cocks….

    Terrible, terrible, terrible!

They are farking this up more and more and more…. till we’re so gatvol of the Southern Kings that we want to wish them ruin.

Pissant wrote a very good article today on his site about how the rugby nation is going to hate the Kings, even though it’s not their fault. Good read – http://www.ruggaworld.com/2012/05/21/the-great-divide/

Read his Article now…. and it’s true… we have and will come to despise the Southern Kings.

Bring on the Kings en the Cats!

Einde. Dankie.

    5 @ Rugbyprof:
Tell me in all seriousness, what has the Cheetahs to gain by merging with the Lions… they stand to contract some of the quality Lions players anyway when the Lions are relegated, if they are relegated.

In other words, how many of the Lions side would make the Cheetahs run-on side…

Maybe Pat Celliers (when WP Nel is gone next year), Jaco Taute…. the rest might make up the numbers in depth….

Loosehead prop, Hookers, locks, looseforwards, scrumhalves, No 1 flyhalf, centres, at least 1 wing and fullback will be Cheetahs players, and rightly so.

On the other hand, what do they have to lose….

Half of their home games, half the SARU Revenue and assistance, a break from their Identity and Brand, Sponsors, players under contract… coaching staff… you name it!
