Kurtley Beale has been ruled out of the Wallabies June Tests and Super Rugby until July after having surgery to clean out floating cartilage from his left shoulder joint.

Kurtley Beale underwent surgery earlier today (Monday morning Australian time) and will be closely monitored over the coming days.

The imediate assesment is that he’ll be out and recuperating for the next 4 weeks.

In related Australian news, Reds and Wallabies captain, James Horwill has been left out of the Wallabies squad for the June Tests as well, due to the injury he pickedup on the weekend in the game between the Brumbies and the Reds. Horwill injured his hamstring in the first half of the game.

The Melbourne Rebels are certainly under seige with Mark Gerrard and Lachlan Mitchell also injured in this weekend’s rugby.

Mark Gerrard has had scans which have revealed that he has avoided any structural damage to his sternum following a heavy collision with Motu Matu’u in Wellington on Saturday, he will be assessed as the week progresses, but remains in contention for selection against the Brumbies.

Lachlan Mitchell had to leave the field during the match agter another Moto Matu’u tackle and has subsequently also had scans on his neck which cleared him of any structural damage. However, Mitchell will be rested this week as a precautionary measure.
