Blitzbokke only winning by 3 points against Russia.
Must be said though that the SA Sevens side has suffered a lot of injuries and a number of newbies are in the squad.
No Cecil Afrika either…
Can’t see the Blitzbokke doing well in this Tournament
Bltzbokkies in kak against the Scots.
Ok, so maybe not.
19/14
Russia have just beaten USA, coming from 5-21 down in the last few minutes to win 22-21. Good match
Awesome day at Scotstoun, sun shining, must be a great day to be there
Scots take it 19-12, some not very happy Kenyans, will definitely be a citing for verbal abuse to the ref
Eng/SA up next, can we win this one? Not the confident, I must say.
Eng/SA on
….and straight away Matt Turner in under the posts. Why did I not see a drubbing coming? Not Eng 7/0 SA
Norton in with another for England. when are we officially allowed to say ‘we’re useless’ without being ridiculed? Eng 12/0 SA
Hendriks in for SA a minute into the second half. Eng 12/7 SA
Useless, useless tackling by the Bokke leads to another try to Eng by Turner. He slipped 3 easy tackle to get over. Eng 19/7 SA
Branco du Preez in with a long range try. Time for a restart still. Eng 19/14 SA
SA with a last chance from a penalty, but guess what, they fluff it. Hopeless.
Eng 19/14 SA Final Score
Letter to ABSA:
Dear Marketing Department.
This morning, the SA mens hockey side qualified for the olympics. This is a remarkable achievement in itself, but there is something even more remarkable than that. They have no sponsor. Yes, you heard me, believe it or not, no sponsor. They have had to pay for the trip to Japan themselves to make the play offs. They deserve their place at the Olympic Games, don’t you think?
Now, my point is, you sponsor a bunch of absolute palooka’s in the form of the Blitzbokke, who, really do not deserve their place at the self same games later this year. You sponsor them to the hilt, hell, you probably even help the WAGS out too. They don’t deserve it. They are an embarrassment to SA rugby. They are too big headed, egotistical under achievers, who think they are entitled to whatever they want. Well, they’re not.
The Hockey boys have no such ego – proved already. They deserve what the Blitzbokke have. So please, please give them your support. They are the real hero’s, not these simpering, whimpering Blitzens.
Thank you in advance.
Just For Kicks
PS I hate hockey.
15@ Just For Kicks:
Can’t say I’m a great hockey fan either and haven’t played since school days in UK some 35 years ago.
However I must say that the modern game is not a bit like it was when I played.
FFS those guys are fit, and the ball is almost constantly in play.
It beats me how even Banana Banana have sponsorships coming out of their ears, but as you say our Hockey men (and women) have no sponsorship at all.
I see a wonderful PR opportunity for someone here.
ABSA though are a bunch of theiveing wanke… er I mean bankers who wouldn’t think twice about sponsoring a “fringe” sport.
Some things in SA defy logic.
16@ Scrumdown:Yup, it’s very strange that there are no sponsors for these fringe sports. But Kudos to Mr Price at least for the kit sponsorship.
Plate semi between SA and Samoa now on. Another hammering?
……oh well, Losefu in for Samoa. SA 0-7 Samoa
…..and another for Iosefu. SA 0-14 Samoa
….and a third, this time Aiaona. SA 0-21 Samoa
……..to easy for Iosefu for his hat trick. And this was all in the first half!!!!! SA 0-28 Samoa
Whistle hasn’t even finished blowing for the start of the second half, and Samoa in again. SA 0-35 Samoa
………and yet another for the Samoans. Tries coming so fast now, I can’t even see who’s scoring. Its just a blur. SA 0-42 Samoa
6 tries in 8 minutes. Embarrassing.
Another to Samoa. This one was Tipuoa, I think!. SA 0-47 Samoa. 2 minutes left still!!!!!
SA 0-47 Samoa. Final Score
That wasn’t rugby, I am afraid, it was a schoolgirls shambles. Pathetic.
Eishhhh
27@ Just For Kicks:
Oh dear JFK seems like it wasn’t a good time in Glasgow for the Blitz Bokke, and my other team the ‘Kwik Kilts’ fell outta the bus to, imagine losing to Spain in the Bowl semi final. Oh well at least the football results went some way to helping my team today otherwise would have been really depressed now, so for now automatic Champions League next season beckons
