@ Just For Kicks:
Mainly because we didn’t lose so many. The Anzacs lost a lot of men at the battle of Gallipoli and so they felt the impact of the war much more deeply…
@ The_Young_Turk:Have you come across Ballz Visual radio on the internet? Try it if you haven’t, it is the resurrection of Darren Scott and his team. Just sports and music. It’s brilliant – from 2-6pm every weekday. They have some awesome interviews
@ Just For Kicks:
Not the arse expert, you’ll have to ask a Bulls supporter…
31@ The_Young_Turk:I don’t mean Anzac Day, I mean Poppy day. We lost a lot of men during the war
@ The_Young_Turk:
I took a bit of a dip on the log this morning, but just couldn’t get myself to fancy those eye-gouchers from Chrischurch….
Tahs penalty and McKibbin slots it
Waratahs 10 / 0 Rebels
@ Just For Kicks:
Thanks, I hadn’t but will check it out.
33@ The_Young_Turk:shhhhhhh, not so loud, we’re not supposed to know
@ Pietman:
I noticed. Put yourself closer in my reach
turk, jfk
lmao

Joining WW II was a controvertial thing in SA at the time… a lot of people felt it was the ideal time to get rid of British interference in SA at the time, yet Genl Jan Smuts was in the British pockets, part of their war cabinet.
I suppose not celebrating the war just seemed to be more apt at the time and thereafter….
@ Ashley:
Kom spot saam jong!
REBELS are RUBBISH!!!!!
this is gonna be a loooooooooong day at the office for the rebels!!
Tahs hard on attack again…. there should be only ONE result in this game
41@ grootblousmile:Very sad, because we’re not remembering the politics and regimes, we’re remembering the fallen
Waratahs 13 / 0 Rebels
@ grootblousmile:
Yip, but these are related to WW1 remembrances…
Although the Boers were more sympathetic to the Germans then as well…
Beales back, but he left his form at home
@ Just For Kicks:
True, it’s for the fallen but it’s always hard to separate politics from other aspects of life unfortunately – just look at some comments on this site for example.
46 @ Just For Kicks:
Yip, I agree.
In my family during the years of the war it was difficult… my Mom’s maiden name was Steinbach, her grandfather having been a German missionary to come to SA long before… so they still had some family in Germany.
As a result they were watched carefully, although they were not choosing Hitler’s side in any way at all.
At the same time my mom’s dad was mayor and attorney in Clocolan… and one of the most respected people in his town for the humanitarian work he dd in the community.
Try time, well done, rubble
Try Jed Robinson.. Rubbles
Lets bet on how many points the Rubbles will score! After having just said that the Rubbles actually go and score
50@ The_Young_Turk:No politics on this site, it’s simple, we OWN the North – no need for anymore politics!
@ grootblousmile:
There wasn’t the same big split in the Cape as there was in the north of the country as you know, because of the Boer Wars or should I say the British wars on the Boers.
Waratahs 13 / 7 Rebels
This game is reeaaalllly boring so far
Penalty Tahs, slotted by McKibbin
Waratahs 16 / 7 Rebels
…..as I say that, we get some decent stuff, Goooo Rubble
