The Toyota Cheetahs left on their overseas leg of this year’s Super Rugby season.

Naka Drotske has made a number of changes and today announced his side to face the Brumbies.

Hopefully this will ignite, what has been a lack lustre Cheetahs team, that will face up against the Brumbies at the Canberra Stadium in Canberra, on Saturday 10 March at 06:35 SA Time.

Team:

1. Coenie “Shrek” Oosthuizen
2. Adriaan Strauss (c)
3. WP Nel
4. George Earle
5. Izak van der Westhuizen
6. Heinrich Brussow
7. Phillip van der Walt
8. Ashley Johnson
9. Tewis de Bruyn
10. Johan Goosen
11. Willie le Roux
12. Phillip Snyman
13. Robert Ebersohn
14. Cameron Jacobs
15. Hennie Daniller

Replacements:

16. Trevor Nyakane
17. Hercu Liebenberg
18. Davon Raubenheimer
19. Justin Downey
20. Piet van Zyl
21. Sias Ebersohn
22. Rayno Benjamin

As expected Coenie returns, after his neck operation. I hope that this will signal the return of a more physical rucking approach from the Cheetahs. In other changes George Earl replaces Andries Ferreira, Raubenheimer is demoted to the bench, to make way for the bustling Johnson. Amongst the backs, Cameron Jacobs gets a start in the place of Rocco Jansen. With Waltie Vermeulen not available due to study commitments, and Lappies Labuschagne still recovering from a shoulder injury, the Cheetahs have opted for Raubenheimer on the bench, as lock cover. I am unsure, if Ferreira is injured, or is out of favour.

The Cheetahs have not shown any of their usual physical, or expansive approach thus far in the Super 15, but hopefully they will take this opportunity against a revamped Brumbies team. the Cheetahs will do well to take cognisance of the Brumbies win in their 1st match, and not be complacent!

Go Cheeeetahs!! We need the SA teams to win against overseas opposition!

Stutte: Greyling, Coenie, Kitshoff, Beast, Jannie, Werner Kruger, Malherbe, Cilliers
Lossies: Brussow, Stegmann, Kolisi, Carr, Stander, Vermeulen, Juan (hopelik), Burger, Koster, Johnson, Strauss, Minnie, Spies
SH:Hougie, Duvenhage, Vermaak, van Zyl, Pretorius
FH: Morne, Goosen, Sias, Elton, Lambie
Senters: Hollenbach, Venter, Strauss, de Villiers, de Jongh, Sadie, Olivier, Ebersohn,
Vleuels: Engelbrecht, Basson, Poolman, Aplon, Mapoe, Sithole, JP Pietersen, Mapoe, Habana, Mjekevu, Mvovo
FB: Taute, Kirchner, Ludik, Viljoen, Visser, Pieterson,

Man kan nogl ‘n vars spannetjie aanmekaar timmer.

I see the SAex Submarine Cable project, of 9 000 km which will connect SA to the Americas with a bandwidth of 12 800 gigabits / sec is due for completion in the Second Quarter of 2013.

I also see that the ACE Submarine Cable project is due for completion around Quarter 2 or 3 of 2012, this one links SA to Europe and is 14 000 km long. The bandwidth on this one will be 5 210 gigabits / sec.

The WACS Submarine Cable project of 14 000 km and with a throughput of 5 120 gigabits / sec was supposed to be completed in the Third Quarter of 2011 and is Telkom, Vodacom, MTN, Neotel & Infraco main carrier.

Won’t it be super once we here in the South of Africa have proper communications and proper bandwidth and proper Internet speeds!

Ek sou nou my eie teelbal kon vastrap as ek ‘n 10 Meg lyn kon kry!

    @ grootblousmile:

Ek het gesien watse rip-off broadband in SA is die laaste keer toe ek daar was. Kry julle regtig jammer man.

Scotland team to play Ireland was anounced yesterday; changes from last game see Nic da Luca starting at centre and Sean Lamont shifting to wing in place of injured brother Rory. On the bench Ruaridh Jackson is back in place of Duncan Weir, bit tough on Weir who has not had much chance and not done anything wrong, but I guess Jackson is ahead of him in the pecking order. Also with da Luca off the bench and starting Max Evans is back on bench after injury, wish Max all the best and hope he can keep his mind off his off field hassles if he comes on to play. With the game not being on Sunday but Saturday Euen Murray is back on bench in place of Ed Kalman.

On Ireland side a big blow for them I think is captain O’Connell out injured lets hope his replacement Donnacha Ryan is not nearly as good as O’Connell

Of the UK Home Unions, I’ve always preferred to support Wales… due to the fact that Rugby is their National Sport as well.

PLUS I also like the Welsh singing! Some fine voices they have!

    48@ grootblousmile:
Ahh ok maybe we’ll let you off on that then, but think you must join me one day for a big game at Murrayfield and hope we can help you change your mind

  • 51

    50 @ Bullscot:
Would like to do that… experience Murrayfield.

    Changing my mind?

    Not many can do that…..

    52@ grootblousmile:
Well there’s no harm in trying… maybe you can start saving and follow the Boks on their UK tour later this year, they are playing Scotland and I plan to be there. Oh well must dash now, cheers vir eers
