Alberts adds power to the Sharks forwards and will give the Sharks more in attack and on defence.

There was concern over Ryan Kankowski who felt pain in his hand after playing the Bulls last weekend but Sharks coach John Plumtree has revealed that there are no broken bones and the s eighthman will be ok to play against the Stormers this weekend.

Centre Tim Whitehead, who made his Sharks debut on the weekend, has a groin complaint and will undergo fitness testing on it this week to determine whether he will be able to play while wing Odwa Ndungane who picked up a knock against the Kings in their pre-season warm-up game is still considered 50-50 for this week’s game.

In other injury news a Sharks medical report says that Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira is currently in week four post injury for an ankle injury sustained in training earlier this month.

Mtawarira was expected to miss around three months of rugby including the first eight matches so he is now almost a third of the way through his rehabilitation.
