The Cheetahs’ Springbok flank Juan Smith has not been included in their pre-season training camp to Jeffreys Bay after experiencing further discomfort in training.

Smith recently started practicing again after being out for almost a year with an Achilles injury.
However, the Volksblad newspaper reports that Smith again experienced discomfort which prevented him from boarding their bus to the coastal town on Monday.
“It’s not something to start panicking over, it’s merely a precautionary measure. Juan will undergo a scan and then visit a specialist in the Cape. We just want to make sure he’s 100% ready,” said Ian Morris, the Cheetahs’ team doctor.
The Cheetahs are planning to have Smith ready for their first Super Rugby match against the Lions in Johannesburg on February 25.
“It’s tough to give a specific date. It’s an injury you just have to be patient with and hope for the best,” said Morris.
Griquas flank Leon Karemaker has replaced Smith on the trip to Jeffreys Bay.
“Juan experienced pain in his Achilles and we decided he should not attend the practice camp. He also won’t join us at a later stage. Leon (Karemaker) has been included in his place,” said Hawies Fourie, the Cheetahs’ backline coach.
Will Juan ever be fully back again?
Damn, these Achillles injuries take long to heal!
Pity he is a great Freestater and a great Springbok.
2 @ Loosehead:
Did you get your Post Office package?
2@ grootblousmile:
Not yet Boss, I will phone with the tracking number later. I have the rep ACER coming to see me at 13h30. The fukken thing will not connect to the internet. It has been back to them 3 times and they have given me 2 new modems, it works in their office but not a fok here.
Oh brother, this is bad news, but I am still hopeful, that the big guy can recover fully. He is such a dedicated, and committed player.
4 @ Loosehead:
Sorry to hear… what did I say to you about Acer?
5 @ Cheetah4eva:
Bad news indeed, I was also hoping he was over his injury fully.
Fark, talking about injuries… I’ve been struggling with backspasms badly in the last 2 days, I think I got a bit more whiplash in the accident than I initially thought.
Some freegin nerve pinching in my back at the top between the vertabrae and the shoulder blade somewhere…
@ grootblousmile:
Don’t say I told you fokken so.
@ GBS,
It’s an age thing lol, I had a similiar story last year, when I wanted to hoink my spare wheel onto the back of the lux, big mistake, hurt my back, and was in suffering for close on 3 weeks.
Lesson to be learnt, is that I can’t do everything I used to be able to ha ha
9 @ Loosehead:
But I did warn you about Acer, did’nt I!
Hahaha
10 @ Cheetah4eva:
I can still do EVERYTHING… I delegate well… hehehe
Lol, jip, not an Acer fan either. Better than Lenovo, but only just! I stick to HP, and Dell mostly. Jammer Loskoppie, but you should have heeded GBS’s advice. Just not on matters relating to rugby, most Bulls supporters are clueless on such intricate matters lol
13 @ Cheetah4eva:
Did you know that HP has the highest fall-back figure under warrantee of all the Notebook brands?
A full 25% (1 in 4) has to go in under warrantee.
I’m not a Dell fan either, very expensive for what you get.
I prefer Samsung, LG, Gigabyte (one of the world’s largest Motherboard Manufacturers and they produce excellent Notebooks), MSI (also a leading world motherboard manufacturer).
I suppose you buy a lot of stuff from Pinnacle Micro’s branch in Nelspruit?
Apple
@ GBS,
Interesting stat that, guess I am lucky, I have had few HP comebacks, but their spares are crazily expensive. Yes, I get the bulk of my stuff from Pinnacle, good after sales service works for me. I am a big fan of MSI, Samsung, and LG, and I totaly agree with you on the Dell issue.

HP Notebook spares – Keyboards, Batteries ect are prohibatively expensive.
Totally crazy!
The Acer techie just phoned me now for directions, I asked him if he had the laptop with him………….whoops he hasn’t. So I said to him that he had better be here with the computer at 13h30 or he will be leaving here walking very funny.
19@ Loosehead:13.35 now, do we have the ‘ministry of funny walks’ yet?
20 @ Just For Kicks:
Your Stormpoppies side for the Lions clash is out… will you do an Article for us?
@ grootblousmile:I have put the team up – before I saw your post, will expand on it.
22 @ Just For Kicks:
No problem… I see Loskoppie also had similar ideas… I had to delete his Article, yours was just a bit more complete.
Have you seen, I’ve put the Lions side up also?
22@ grootblousmile:
Dik swak!
24 @ Loosehead:
Sorry, Mr Acer!
