Sorry, a bit slow today… but it’s here
Ama-Blomme started the day’s play at a snail’s pace.
We’re opening the door again for a successful run chase by Sri Lanka!
Morning GBS, I too am a bit slow, loads of morning chores and some painting to do. All done, now, I hasten to add, and will now relax with the cricket.
I see that it has been going at a pretty slow pace, Smith definitely seems to have either had a stern talking to, or perhaps found himself – up comes his second 50 in back to back ODI’s. Prove us wrong, Biff, it won’t change my attitude towards you, but I will eat humble pie about wanting to drop you.
Biffie over the 50 and finally SA on the 100 mark… after 24 freegin overs!
I don’t know what the track is like, as I have missed everything, but is this the reason for the 2 early wickets and the slow scoring?
Lekker 6 by AB!
HUUUUUGE 6 form AB way over mid on and 15 rows back
3 @ Just For Kicks:
Morning!
I have to take out the braais just now, will be here on and off.
6 @ Just For Kicks:
Rained heavily in the night, so the covers were on late this morning, ball getting quite a bit of swing early on.
AB is such an exciting player, 24 off 24 balls… keeping a very good strike rate from the start.
@ grootblousmile:No problem, I’ll be around now – throw a rump on for me!
At this early junction it does’nt look like SA will get more than 240.
Par for the course at Wanderers is about 250 for an ODI…
Biff now smashes a 6.
Smith really needs to press on a bit now – as I say that he flat bats a ball over mid on for 6. Wow
11 Runs fron over 28… that’s better!
After conceding just 1 run in the first 3 balls, Senanayake ends up conceding 11 runs. rely upsetting his bowling figures, going from 3.3 1 7 to 4 1 18
15 @ Just For Kicks:
OK, let me go do the braais… if you want to Edit the Thread, do it with pleasure.
Damn, need to pull the run-rate up over 5 an over…
Much better over from Senenayake, pulled it back nicely, just 2 from it
Batting power play taken, back comes Malinga, need to up the rate now, but without taking too many risks with Malinga’s bowling
Malinga goes for 9 in that over, thats what we need right now. Drinks. SA 147/2 after 32
Malinga back on for his second over of the batting power play, and dispatched for 2 x 4’s off the first 2 balls by AB. Good one AB
AB to 47 off 46 balls with that single. Thats 9 off the over so far. 2 balls left
11 off that Malinga over, thats 20 in 2 overs
RR up to 4.88. Keep going lads, thats the right direction, at least….. and thats 50 for AB off 47 balls. Thats 3 in the 5 ODI matches against SL!!!!
Smith certainly looking like the Smith of old, starting to play some nice shots now. That was a lovely on drive for 4
Last over of pp, spinner back on for Malings. Runs please
Only 5 off that Senenayake, good pp though, SA made 44 off those 5 overs, much better
Smith on 89 off 119. Will he get a century? It would certainly boost his confidence ahead of NZ if he does
Another big 6 from Smith SA 192/2 after 38. Smith to 96
Very good 6 by Biff… he’s on 96 from 121 balls
