The Blue Bulls Company has just released an official Media Release regarding their stance on Heyneke Meyer’s possible appointment as Springbok rugby coach, by SARU.
The plot thickens…
Herewith the Official Media release, as follows:
BLUE BULLS COMPANY STATEMENT WITH REGARDS TO HEYNEKE MEYER
At a meeting called by SARU, on Tuesday, 24 January 2012, with the Blue Bulls Company’s Board of Directors, SARU informed the Blue Bulls Board of their intention to offer Heyneke Meyer the position of National Coach.
The Blue Bulls Board reiterated its position that Meyer is under contract with the Blue Bulls Company and had appointed Meyer as Executive Rugby, only after an undertaking and commitment by Meyer to lead Blue Bulls rugby over the next four years.
It is the Blue Bulls Board’s position that it would not be in the Blue Bulls interest to release Meyer after many resources and commitments have been made in order to enable Meyer to fulfill his mandate.
Should Meyer however decide to accept the position of National Coach, he needs to inform the Blue Bulls Board of his decision to abdicate his responsibilities and commitments to the Blue Bulls.
Although the Blue Bulls Board would be disappointed with such a decision by Meyer, the Board has faith in the coaching structures under the leadership of Frans Ludeke in taking the Bulls into the future.

BLOU BULLE MAATSKAPPY VERKLARING RAKENDE HEYNEKE MEYER
All this indicates is that the Blue Bulls are’nt very happy, but that the Bokke coaching job has indeed been offered to Heyneke.
Whether Heyneke now takes it, is his decision… the Bulls have basically indicated they won’t stand in his way… that he’ll be doing it on his own volution.
Look, I am sure that HM would rather coach the Boks than the Bulls.
It shows the respect that the Bulls have for him that they have said that although not happy, they will not stop him from going.
Just posted this on the other thread, so copied and pasted here. GBS, remove the other one if you like
But what did anyone expect them to say? We all new how ridiculous it was for SARU to delay and delay the announcement, and to a point where we are just about to “kick off” with the new season. How is any union supposed to be able to plan properly when you have these shenanigans going on. Now HM is going to want to, quite rightly, surround himself with the ‘best’ in the business in order to implement his strategy, and what are the Unions who will lose more personnel going to think of that. They too will be pretty pissed off.
Take the Rassie situation, how much of it was the inability to work with WPRU, and how much was his leaving due to the up coming announcement. Whichever it is, with Nienaber about to be named as well, Stormers – whatever we think of them – are going to be in a similar situation to the Bulls. And pretty pissed off, I would think.
SARU has a lot to answer for, and all unions affected must be compensated accordingly.
4@ Just For Kicks:
Don’t forget that SARU and WP share the same office space.
1 @ superBul:
PS! Ek het probeer dat my ou BMW op water loop so 11 dae terug, dit het duidelik nie gewerk vir my nie… hehehe
@ grootblousmile:

Flok, sorry, dit was ‘n ou spelfoutjie!
SARU have released this statement, following on from the Blue Bulls Statement:
The South African Rugby Union (SARU) confirmed on Wednesday that discussions had been held with Heyneke Meyer regarding his possible appointment as Springbok coach – as disclosed in a media release issued today by Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd. No appointment has yet been made.
The Executive Council (Exco) of SARU will be provided with a report back on those discussions at their meeting in Cape Town on Thursday. The Exco is constitutionally responsible for the appointment of the Springbok coach. Their recommendation has to be ratified by a General Meeting of SARU.
A Special General Meeting will take place in Cape Town on Friday at which the decision of the Exco will be tabled for ratification.
The outcome of those processes will be communicated at a media briefing at 14h00 on Friday, as previously advised.
Hmmm thought that SARU would not be too happy with the BB Company for releasing that statement hehehe
10 @ Tripples:
As if any farker at SARU could keep a freegin secret!
11@ grootblousmile:
They’re good at keeping secrets.
They’re all wankers (including the females), and there hasn’t been ONE video of any of them on You Tube yet.
After a lot of criticism on the BBC someone said this, i would go with his view, it suits me.
“The press release from the Bulls would likely be as much for Meyer as it is for them. They clearly indicated in the press release that Heyneke can leave if he wants to, and if he has interest in coaching the Boks.
Lets not forget though, Heyneke was in the pound seat 4 years ago to be Bok coach, only to be screwed at the last minute by SARU. The press release by the Bulls ensures that SARU can’t withdraw their offer to Heyneke should he want the job, and also highlights the incompetence of SARU, in leaving it so late”
