The pitch should be ready and the match is not in doubt but there is doubt over whether the Crusaders will have their new grandstands in time for their first home game in the new Super Rugby season.

Demolition of the main stand at Rugby League Park has already started and is expected to finish this week.

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder told Newstalk ZB that everything might not be completely ready in time for the Crusaders first home game which is in March when they host the Chiefs.

“I’m really pleased we’re going to be playing at home and if it is the second home game it still wouldn’t worry me, but if it is the first it would be even better, it would be fantastic.”

The Crusaders regular home ground is AMI Stadium but was damaged in the February 2011 earthquakes which meant that the Crusaders were unable to play any of their home games in Christchurch in 2011.
