60 @ Bullscot:
Hello
Would not be surprized if the Test is over in under 3 full days.
Wicket!
Haddin GONE!
Aussie 18 / 6
61@ grootblousmile:
Hello GBS thats not good for a game that should be 5 days, Newlands could lose a lot of cash if no cricket come the weekend which is when you would have thought the biggest crowds would attend.
18 Wickets in the day already… maggies!
63 @ Bullscot:
A lot of the wickets which fell was just stupid cricket, not so much the pitch to blame.
Last wicket of Haddin was a prime example.
A lot of lbws 7 out of the last 15 wickets to fall, tells me must be tricky wicket with probably not much bounce unless the bowlers really put their back into it, and the quicks/medium pacers are bowling accurately. That’s assuming all the calls for lbw have been spot on?
oeps that comment already out of date see another wicket has fallen
Wow, just walked back in. It’s carnage out there!!!
66 @ Bullscot:
The LBW calls have been pretty spot-on, specially now with the Umpire Referral System and the Team Review System in place where each side has a couple of reviews of the decision.
Commentators are also unsure whether the pitch is to blame…
… and another wicket tumbles…
Aussie 21 / 7
A-freegin-mazing!
65@ grootblousmile:
ok thanks Gbs not getting to see any of it so just guees work here is it because SA team still in limited overs mode, I read before the start of the game this may be a concern as its been ages since last test but they are professionals after all?
As I am not near a tv, is the ball moving around alot?
Gosh yes I see from the net score its 7 down!
Wicket again…. Amla takes the catch, Johnson gone
Aussie 21 / 8
Another one gone?
Aussies lead by 209 with 2 wickets still standing
Philander traps another one LBW… not given out… Philander is adamant to have it referred… and it is referred…
71@ Just For Kicks:
Not watching on TV Just For Kicks but overhead conditions shouldn’t be helping any swing must be nice and bright there, maybe they’re getting some movement off the seam, but as Gbs who can see it says the batsmen are lot helping their cause.
Given OUT!!
Aussies 21 / 9
Marsh is out!
77@ Bullscot:
sorry that should read batsmen are not instead of are lot.
71 @ Just For Kicks:
Ball moving quite a bit… quite a few edges, which is indicative of movement in the air
78@ grootblousmile:
This is incredible GBS wickets falling quicker than I can get post up, hope next one is as quick and its not a 50 run last wicket stand.
Philander just bowled a Double Wicket Maiden…
@ Bullscot:Thanks, but even if the batsmen aren’t helping their cause, it must be the pitch then. To see so many wickets fall in one day, is that acceptable?
21 Wickets have fallen Today alone, so far.
Never seen it in the 5-Day game before….
Philander a 5for?
83@ Just For Kicks:
Am with you on that one, for this test to end as early as it probably will do now is not good for WP cricket union or whoever gains from gate takings at Newlands so they have a vested interest to prepare a pitch that will ensure a good fair contest between bat and ball.
Since Lunch 69 runs and 18 wickets!
Philander currently 5 Wickets for 9 runs!
Pitch this morning surrendered 72 runs for just 2 Aussie wickets…. then when SA came in to bat, the paw-paw hit the fan…
82@ grootblousmile:
Really good for Phillander he has certainly grabbed his chance couldn’t have asked for a better debut, of course maybe success with the bat would make it even better, but he is doing his job as bowler. I assumed he got the nod ahead of Tstosobe because in addition to his bowling he can bat a bit.
