One thing is sure , SA wont get away with another poor first innings like the 96 we made in Cape Town.
Aussies are on the run, time to rub their noses in it.
Cricket, about as interesting as Vodacom Cup rugby.
Smith out already.
Flok… 2 wickets down already, both Biff and Rudolph out.
SA 43 / 2 after 14.4 overs
Dik swak.
Ama-Blomme 80 / 2 after 21 overs.
Seems that Kallis is on form and have upped the run-rate quite a bit since he’s come in to bat.
Kallis is already on 28 off 20 balls, Amla on 10 off 40 balls.
100 up for SA
100 / 2
Another 6 from Kallis..
He’s on 43 off only 32 balls.
Lunch
SA 107 / 2
@ grootblousmile:
Good morning GBS looks like they doing ok after losing openers quite cheaply
10 @ Bullscot:
Hello Bully… yip, Kallis in fine form it seems.
I said during the 1st Test, the way to play these Australians is to attack their bowling, not just hang back waiting for bad balls.
I quite like the DRS referreal system where technology is used to determine dubious decisiond on referral and review.
Many more CORRECT decisions!
Now hope Rugby takes note… it has not slowed cricket down to a crawl, neither will correct application in rugby have that effect!
11@ grootblousmile:
Yeah sounds like a good approach interesting that of the two out there that Kallis is the one attacking
Kallis on 50 with another 6
Kallis departs…. from the bowling of Siddle for 54
SA 123 / 3
Oh fark, Amla out too
SA 129 / 4
AB de Villiers & Prince now at the crease
SA 168 / 4 after 39 overs
Drinks break
200/4, overs 47.3
much better than newlands,
but then,
why DID we decide to bat first? not listening to the commentary at the moment.
anyone know why we decided to bat first?
How do I always get it wrong – up to my armpits in grease, shouting and cursing at ancient machinery, come in to relax and caych a bit of cricket for the first time today, and guess what – it’s tea!!!
Looks like AB going well though
19@ Ashley: Also missed the beginning, but I guess they are worried about the pitch batting last – thats if SA won the toss, of course!. What was the pitch report?
Prince certainly trying to give the Aussies some chances after tea – thats 2 mis-hits
Prince onto 40 with a boundary
Prince really riding his luck a bit now, three 4’s in a row, and brings up his 50
sorry, not 50 yet!!!
Now it’s 50, off 75 balls
Ab, pure class when he’s on form
At the moment, the Aussies just seem to be going through the motions, waiting and hoping something will happen. It’s allowing the batsmen to score singles freely all round the ground. There’s no pressure on our boys at the moment.
Having said that, a very poor shot by Ashwell, lobbing it to mid on sees him walk
He really was playing some unattractive shots since tea, and I suppose it was just a matter of time. Fool just gave away his wicket
