The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd is pleased to announce that after successful negotiations with the Sharks, utility forward Daniel Adongo will join the Vodacom Bulls with immediate effect and till October 2013. He was contracted at the Sharks till the end of 2011.
Official Blue Bulls Media Release
The 22 year old Kenyan player has been a member of the Sharks Academy in recent years and has represented the Sharks at u.19, u.21 and Vodacom Cup level, playing in all 10 of the Sharks XV matches in 2011, scoring three tries. He was also part of the Sharks Super Rugby team that played in a pre-season tournament against the Stormers and Lions in Cape Town earlier this year.
The Nairobi born player is equally adept playing at lock or loose forward and with his express pace, also played wing for the Sharks in age group rugby.
Adongo is excited about the move. ”I want to thank the Sharks for the chance they have given me to play rugby and all they have taught me about the game through the Sharks Academy and also the senior Sharks training squad. I am very excited about my move to the Bulls. I look forward to the challenge of proving myself from scratch and it is a privilege to become part of the Union. I am hopeful that I will play a significant and constructive role in Bulls history going forward.”
Commenting on the signing the BBC’s Head: Rugby Heyneke Meyer said the athletic forward should be a perfect fit. “Dan offers a lot to any team with his size and pace and I am looking forward to see him develop and progress at the Vodacom Bulls in the next couple of years.”

I do not know too much about Adongo… anybody here who know him better as a player and could shed some light on whether he’ll go much further?
Meer so as enige ander SA Unie, wil dit my voorkom!

Hello Gbs, I remember a while back when I was asking about players that Puma wrote something about this young Kenyan they had at the Sharks and that he thought this Daniel Adonga was one to watch cause Puma thought he had good potential, so its good to have him with us. Sounds like he is quite a pacy guy so will be interesting to see where he fits in, not so sure about player size requirements but looks like he has the height of a lock is his weight enough for lock or maybe will he be better at no. 8, or back on the wing? Anyway will be interesting to see how things develop. I saw last week some Sharks fans were speculating that he was on his way to the Bulls. One thing someone did mention was they thought he wasn’t very young when he first started playing rugby and they felt sometimes this showed in his spacial awareness on the field which they thought lacked at times, lets hope he becomes a BIG STAR at LOFTUS!
