when they interviewed the SA referee contingent to the WC earlier last week i realised how they raped the game. One of them had this to say. We take control of the engage, in other words teams wont be able to get used to each refs timing he can vary it so that he stays the boss.
Scrums yesterday in the CC too was badly disrupted by REFEREES nukke en grille.
So many ball was already under the 8th mans feet only to result in a penalty against the team, because some so called front row mistake. That is killing the game, in a case or two there was perfect ball to run with and half the players engaged in the scrum with space galore and guess what the ref stops the move. Sick man , sick.
Alexandra Rosenfeld… Miss Europe
That should be a yellow.
Penalty to Italy… very kickable

Control freaks who want to be the centre of attention.
Kaplan has really developed into a whistle happy self opinionated chop IMO.
Aussie 6 / 3
So, we’re discussing the refs, even though he has no option but to blow the rules…. let’s just watch the game, with the rules as they apply this year.
Penalty Italy, and this one is a sitter
Cooper really sold his team down the river there.
KICK THE VARKING THING OUT! Box of the highest order.
6 / 6
6-6
@ Scrumdown:
OK lets talk the current game.
Mallet might just help the SA cause after all, if the Aussies lose here and Italy gets them out of playoffs….. OK not that i wish it again , i would love a SA vs Aus final.

Time to make coffee and get the buttermilk rusks out.
I’m choking on my oysters here, 6 all at halftime. Too many penalties for my liking. Wallabies need to smarten up.
By the way, it’s 10 years today since the infamous 9/11 in the USA.

So yes, while the ref can only blow the refs as laid down, too many control freaks and different interpretations spoil MANY games for both the players and spectators.
The best ref is the one you just don't remember. If he (or his assistants) have an integral input into the result of a game due to a decision that was as a result of a personal interpretaion OR 50/50 or misjudged call, then it's wrong IMO.

I personally think Italy will pip Ireland to the runner-up spot in this group.
They play each other as the last game in this pool, and it should be a “mini knock out” if all goes to the book.
However, if Italy could win this game who knows what may transpire.
SA really don’t want to meet the Wallabies in the quarters.
This game needs a try from one of the sides to open it up.
Seeing as a neglected to make a Superbru pick in time, I don’t care who it is but PLEASE let’s see some Rugger.
Just time to give birth to a Wales supporter before 2nd half starts.
2nd Half ON!
Shaping up to be a very nice Sunday morning here in the Panne
Wallabie scrum show the Italians that they CAN scrum!!!
@ grootblousmile:
Likewise here in ORT country.
Wallabies running it…. TRY!!!!
Try Ben Alexander…
good rugby
Aussie 11 / 6
Ben Alexander makes the front row union a happy bunch.
Thought Beale had butchered it again for a moment.
If the Aussies continue to play at this tempo Italy will be hard pressed to stay in the game. They (the Italians) will be hoping the heavens open up again.

Dont take this as a fight GBS but by saying this you restrict us to be just yes men. If you talk to the guys who left us here on RT you will find that many complain about just that, we must toe the line here or move away. You know my lojalty to you and the site but let the truth be told a few of the guys who left , left because of just that.
If we dont talk about things around the game of rugby what is the point of this chat site? To only tell each other nice try, nice score this , score that? We are almost all right in front of the TV watching live so we can see with our own eyes. We are doing rugby now and we talk about all the rugby things during a game here. Sorry i feel strong about it keep it clean and talk rugby , no name calling and dont be prescriptive. If i see something in the game i will talk about it.
The Laws that we talk about. They all bend the bloody rules to suit their own interpretation. If we cliam to be a top rugby site this is then the place to question the refs. If we claim to have any standing in rugby world we must say what bothers us right here. The “other side” accuses us of being just a lot of “saam praters” Broederbond etc. We must be big enough the fiercely debate some rugby decisions while we keep our manners. And i think i am still good mannered through it all.
Sorry i feel like Peter de Villiers with the English, i would have said it better in Afrikaans. But hopefully my point came through.
I will take this up again but when i ask about refs i get you on my back. Eish ou maat jy weet so goed soos ek die game kan baie beter beheer word as wat dit tans gedoen word.

Het jy nou klaar ‘n foofie valve gebars?
