Micheal Bondesio returns to the MTN Golden Lions team as coach John Mitchell make one side to the team that narrowly lost to to the Vodacom Blue Bulls last week Saturday. Dylan des Fountain returns on the bench, while Michael Killian was cleared to play after tweaking his hamsring on Saturday.

This match promises to be a humdinger, with Cheetahs having hit some great form over the last couple of weeks with some terrific wins, while the Lions hit a bit of a speed wobble in their loss to the Bulls. Both teams need the win to keep up their momentum in the business end of the Currie Cup season. Both teams are likely to feature in the semi finals. The question is whether they will be able to host a semi final or not. At this stage the Lions are the more likely contenders to host that valuable match, even though they have the tougher games in the run up to the play offs, having to face the Cheetahs, Blue Bulls and the The Sharks  in consecutive fixtures, while the Cheetah’s face the Lions, Pumas and Griquas.

The team to face the Cheetah’s is:
15 Jaco Taute, 14 Deon van Rensburg, 13 Doppies la Grange, 12 Alwyn Hollenbach, 11 Michael Killian, 10 Elton Jantjies, 9 Michael Bondesio, 8 Joshua Strauss (capt.), 7 Derick Minnie, 6 Cobus Grobbelaar, 5 Franco van der Merwe, 4 Michael Rhodes, 3 Patric Cilliers, 2 Bandise Maku, 1 JC Janse van Rensburg.
Replacements: 16 Martin Bezuidenhout, 17 Jacobie Adriaanse, 18 David Bulbring, 19 Warren Whiteley, 20 Burton Francis, 21 James Kamana, 22 Dylan Des Fountain.

Nice consistency in selection from JM. Should be a titanic battle which will be close and could go either way.

Cheetahs are playing some exceptional Rugby and the Lions are no push over.

Whoever takes this one will have earned the points.
