Vodacom Blue Bulls flanker Dewald Potgieter will not play in the remainder of the Absa Currie Cup competition after injuring his ankle.

According to Vodacom Blue Bulls team doctor, Potgieter’s injury is quite serious and he will not be able to complete the season.

Potgieter has shown fine form during the Currie Cup and his absence will be felt by the Bulls, still in a desperate race to qualify for the semi-finals of the Currie Cup.

Luckily for the Blue Bulls, opensider Deon Stegmann will be available for selection next week, as will be Akona Ndungane, who is also recovering well from injury, Strauss said.
