Springboks (15) 18 / All Blacks (5) 5 (Final Score)
The South African Springboks hosted the New Zealand All Blacks at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Port Elizabeth at 17:05 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD & M-Net on TV in SA.
Although the Springboks did not score a try, Morné Steyn’s boot was the difference… and all the Springboks worked hard enough, to really deserve the win!
The passion was back in the faces, the focus narrowed, the set phases were good and the breakdown battle was won by the Springboks.

Well guys , what did you see today. The Boks will have a good team with a good chance. This was not a all in all AB B side, the face of GH showed worries, this poor lad is in for a torrid time. I hope his concentration is on the game against FRance

All Blacks were at least 9 changes away from their best side… so it was a ‘B’ side…. for sure it was.
Let’s see how many changes Graham Henry makes for the Wallabies… THAT will be his best available side….
All Blacks beat the Bokke in New Zealand 40 / 6 if I remember correctly, a 34-point margin… we beat them by 13… there is still a rather large discrepancy!
@ grootblousmile:
well old mate , daai game gaan n opskudding of twee teweeg bring.
The bottomline is that the Bokke could have been better prepared by now…. should have been.
This win is a catch 22…. it is expected, with the Bokke best against the All Blacks not so best side.
Had the Bokke lost, which they luckily did not… it would have spelt disaster, with them winning it indicates that the players are there if the right things happen from hereon in, yet it is not a train smash for the All Blacks, not in the least, their ‘B” side was dangerous… and they have a Test to hone it again against the Wallabies… before the World Cup starts.
If the Wallabies win this weekend, then the All Blacks have reason to start worrying…. but I don’t think they will.
Ou Gurthro het my verbaas, hy was terug met mening!
@ grootblousmile:
i see it totally different.
We are definitely gaining momentum. Even you will agree. That is all about timeing. We can pull of a game like this and bury Wales. Then it is almost certain that we will end top of our group.
…………………. then we can work to the next round knowing we can be better.
Saterdag wat kom gaan lekker wees…. of die Wallabies se selfvertroue gaan ‘n knou kry… of die All Blacks gaan ‘n wilde CHOKE gooi wat hulle gaan laat worry….
Wie gaan EERSTE OGIES KNIP….. hehehe
@ grootblousmile:
Jaque Fourie was net so briljant met sy aanvoeling
Nouja, Wallis wen toe 28 / 13 teen Agentina
Goeie nag, slaap sag!
What do all the naysayers say now?….we are going to peak at the world cup. NZ were weak at flyhalf, everywhere else they were as good as any other Kiwi side. The Bokke tails are up and thats all we needed….bring it on….20 days to go.
140@ 4man:This was very much an Adidas All Black B team, in a test played in SA.
