The Lions made one change and two positional switches to their side ahead of Saturday’s Absa Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs in Johannesburg.
With centre Waylon Murray being ruled out of rugby for the rest of the year with a knee injury, wing Lionel Mapoe was selected to wear the number 13 jersey with regular fullback Michael Killian reverting back to wing.
Killian’s place in the last line of defence will be filled by Jaco Taute who started from the bench in last week’s 36-27 victory against the Blue Bulls.
On the team’s list of replacements, Johan Snyman was selected to start ahead of Michael Rhodes who has been taken to task for receiving a yellow card at Loftus Versfeld.
