The MTN Golden Lions will be playing DHL Western Province this Friday, 19 August 2011 in Cape Town. Kick off is at 19:10.

It seems that with the good form the MTN Golden Lions have showed so far in the Currie Cup, that finally coach John Mitchell is able to settle on virtually the same team week after week now, which should greatly assist the Lions in maintaining their unbeaten form in the Currie Cup and also their top of the log status.

Friday sees another of the “Big Guns”, DHL Western Province, who in recent seasons have had the wood over the Lions…. but this year it might be different, even at Newlands in Cape Town.

Is’nt it facinating what removing the Springboks does to the chances of the different teams, where suddenly squad depth is tested to new limits.

In this regard, of course, the Lions are one of the teams blessed with very little disruption, seeing as not many Lions have made the cut for possible higher honours.
