Lions (20) 30 / Sharks (9) 30 (Final Score)
The MTN Lions hosted the Sharks at Coca-Cola Park, Johannesburg at 16:05 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD & M-Net on TV in SA.
In a humdinger of a match the MTN Lions and the Sharks drew 30 / 30 but it took a momentous effort for the Sharks to pull back a 21-point deficit and they managed to pull 14 of those points back whilst Butch james was off in the sin bin, yellow carded for a head high flying tackle on Keegan Daniel.

Lions 13 / 3
verskoon my, maar waar was DIE Lions span die hele seisoen?
I smells a rat! No Jo(n)ker in the pack? The plot thickens! The Shaaaaks would have been decidedly edgy with Jonker taking the whistle, in case he over compensated for his poor showing last week. would love to hear the “party line”on this decision! Bet Joker “pulled”a hammie escaping from the irate Cheetahs supporters on Saturday past!
What a plick!
Lions look like they are going to do a Force. Do the Sharks have the class to keep in touch and take this game at the end??
Penalty to the Sharks, right in front on the 22
35@ Greenpoint-Gunner:
They had to wait until the last game of the season to win a big one, and thereafter declare the season a success while the victory is still fresh in the minds of the supporters.
Skapie slots it

36@ Cheetah4eva:
Lions have NEVER won a Super Rugby match with Plonker in charge!
I dunno but on the occasion that I’ve had to eat egg off my own face, I always felt that the egg tasted slightly sour.
And its almost as if my dear commentators are having the same experience after that drive and try from the line-out, ne?
41@ smallies72:
Lions were well in control last week until they went for their weekly siesta!
@ The_Young_Turk:
sharks het nog nooi class gehad nie
45@ smallies72:
“Class can’t be purchased!”
@ Scrumdown:
hoop nie vandag weer nie
@ smallies72:
Lol, get ready and prepare your arse 🙂
Lions are not playing helter skelter rugby today, so far… a bit more thought going into how they approach things
seems like the Lions have shored up in ALL areas… with all the Boks gone, I am thinking… Lions, Cheetahs, WP will definitely be in the CC semis.
Another easy penalty for the Sharks
@Smallies& Scrumdown!
Faaarkin Jonker, my sense of humor has sttill not returned, and the arroganct response by certain Shaaaaaks supporters after they were gifted, an unlikely victory in bloem, has helped my mood! But I guess I should still look at the bigger picture and hope for 3 SA sides in the playoffs.
Bah! I won’t be too put out if the lions whip the Guppies!
Skapie slots this one too.
Lions 13 / 9
@ Scrumdown:
I see.
Tryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Jano Vermaak!
@ smallies72:
Maybe they don’t have class so they’ll make up for it the ref’s support!
I was about to say that the Lions might just need to work on their tight phases. wow…
Vark me. What’s happening?
Listening on RSG.
The Sharks lines parted like the Red Sea
