Stormers (3) 16 / Bulls (6) 19 (Final Score)
The DHL Stormers hosted the Vodacom Bulls at Newlands, Cape Town at 18:10 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD & M-Net on TV in SA.
This game cannot be described as rugby, it was rather trench warfare… and the Bulls won the brutal war, revenging the Stormers win of earlier in the season at Loftus.
The Bulls were just simply better in the set pieces, the rest was all equal.

Final Score: Bulls 19 / 16 DHL Stormers
Oh yes what a result great Bulls!
hierdie was die game van die naweek well done bulls en well done lions
Thought the Bulls would win,but what a sh*t call by the ref right at the end.
Anyway, good for SA rugby. Next weekend all of SA will probably cheer for the Brumbies. If they win, its 3 SA teams through. Done.
Good night all. Good game.
blerrie bulle…
Congrats Bullies. Probably the best result for the saffa teams. Stompies can still finish 2nd and Bulls and Sharkies have to fight it out if Tahs win. If not, they are both through.
Well done Bulls…..Sounds as though it was quite a slog in the end.
Can only picture the game through your words here…..Justin tv and vipstand were not playing ball here.
Just logged on quick to say congrats Bulls.
Well done Bulls and bad luck Stormers.
Great finish to watch. Had Stormers played like they done in the last 8min they could have won. But like Sharks they woke up a bit late. Very good finish to watch. Exciting.
I had Bulls by 3 on bru so I win a point there…hehe.
Next week a big game against the Sharks. A must win for both teams. Still all to play for.
Go Sharks 🙂
Gbs, Go watch that youtube music clip of “Dancing In The Streets” You put up for me on the Reds thread. You will feel like doing just that after this win…hahaha.
Out of here now. Cheers all catch up tomorrow or during the week.
Well, the Bulls have now moved up to 6th spot, one game to play…. only points difference sepearing them and the Sharks on the Combined Log
Next week the Sharks loom large for the Bulls at Loftus….. and I have a bloody wedding to attend, fark!
Sjoe, that was tense…..
@ Greenpoint-Gunner:156 – Thought it was a bad call by ref at the end as well. Should have played advantage. Well I thought he should have. Then you win some from refs and some you don’t.
Stormers should beat Cheatahs next week and end top of our conference anyhow. If they do they will still get a home semi as it is the top two out of the conferences that get a home semi.
Cheers mate, out of here now.
@ grootblousmile:160 – GBS, Bulls have moved up to 5th cause they have won more games than Sharks. Thought they would decide it on points difference but not so. Go check. Still all to play for next week against Sharks and Bulls. Gonna be another huge battle.
Cheers now really gone. Catch up during the week.
Next week is gonna be even more farking interesting, can’t wait, Ciao a tutti!
Brrrrr, I feel relieved… for a week…. hehehe
163@ Puma:
Yes thought I heard that as well Puma, but wasn’t sure because am not too familiar with all the rules.
Fark, I’ve dropped back to 10th on the SuperBru pool Log… but someone else has dropped from 1st to 5th… in the space of ONE weekend…. hehehe
Well… both the Bulls and Sharks on 53 Log points….. it will be decided who ends highest at Loftus on Saturday….
Confirmed… Bulls are in 5th spot at the moment, 10 wins against the Sharks 9 wins for the season
The Super Rugby Logs are updated and available on: http://www.rugby-talk.com/?page_id=22806
168@ grootblousmile:
Yes that will be another big game, pity for you can’t make it Gbs, will that be the last game at Loftus for the guys who will be leaving at end of season considering no Tri nations games there this year?
171@ Bullscot:
Hehehe
172@ grootblousmile:
Well considering your closeness to the man then the rugby should come a distant 2nd, am sure the young man is chuffed you’ll be at his big day.
congrats bulls , i called it and am not surprised
great games by lambie and hougaard today
oh and matfield made bekker his bitch again
175@ sharky_forever:
Thanks Sharky, hope it will be a good game at Loftus between us, may the best (Bulls) team win 😉
Congrats to the Bulls and all their supporters here. You were clearly superior at the set-pieces and deserved your win.
Well done Bulls.
Just saw the result. Couldn’t watch or listen. Seems like it was a humdinger of a game. Maybe not for the purist, but hey, tight forwards are purists too.
Had to drive through Pretoria last night with a CA number plate last night. Had a Bulls flag in the car with me, just in case we ran into trouble. Am now spending the week at the Woodhill Estate, apparently Victor Matfield lives just across the fairway from the house.
