Ireland coach Mike Ruddock has largely kept faith with his starting XV from day one with only five changes, including James McKinney getting the nod at fly-half ahead of Paddy Jackson for the first ever meeting on the Junior World Championship stage between these nations.
“We have looked closely at South Africa and they present another massive challenge,” admitted Ruddock.
“Typically they are a big and very physical side. Combine that with a four day turnaround and it is important that we introduce some freshness into our team. The players coming in are all experienced age grade internationals and they will be keen to perform on the big stage.”

OK, I’m out… was a long day!
At the end it is a comfortable win, but not accurate enough to beat the All Blacks
Me too, go Bokkies
Nag julle…
GBS,
Far to provincial for a JUNIOR SA team.
Who cares if he’s a BB?
I’ll sommer TELL Mr Reyneke to buy him with his extremely well endowed cheque book, then we’ll just have a Springbok Captain in the making with a rooibont om die bors!
I just finished work and need to be in the office @ 05h30 tomorrow to finish another job because of the short work week.
Why can’t the animals just commit “sewerage pipe”?
Well the Irish are now mentally conditioned on what test games against the Boks are like, for the rest of their playing lives. Only place I can see a slight weakness in this Junior Bok side is on the wings where the guys are average and not best in class. Conditioning wise, the senior Bok team could learn a thing or two from this Junior side….man they run all day until the opposition has no more answers. must be those Italian girls!! What a jol for a 20 year old.
