Reds (7) 17 / Crusaders (10) 16 (Final Score)
The Reds hosted the Crusaders at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane at 08:10 SA Time, Sunday morning. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD & M-Net on TV in SA.
The Reds flyhalf, Quade Cooper, slotted a penalty in the 80th minute to secure a 1-point lead and eventual win. It was a hard and brutal match but the relatively low scores both sides just do not do justice to the open and flowing game presented by these tow sides on the day.
Scorers:
Reds: 2 Conversions & 1 Penalty Quade Cooper, 1 Try Ben Tapuai, 1 Try Will Genia

Almost a Reds try, just bundled out
60@ superBul:
Ons kan so maak, ja
Some senseless kicking now
I am an ardent saffa and sa rugby supporter and promoter guys, but only a biased person will say that yesterday’s game is of the same quality as today’s. Here there is a far more constant level of play from both teams.
must say at times this rucking and counter rucking looks so messy. No offside line just a lot of guys pouncing on the ball
Does not look like 4 tries either way, for this game
Quade Cooper is a freak of nature, the man has no fear
@ grootblousmile:
True, he has really grown in confidence over the last year. Now the complete article.
Come on Reds…. another try will be good, the 4-point margin is too small… suits my Bru, but it’s too small
Very closely contested game this. No one team is clearly stronger than the other….
68@ The_Young_Turk:
We say a lot about Sonny Bill Williams from time to time but Surfer Dude’s offloads are just freakily good, sometimes too good, confusing his own crowd of players
Saders have the stronger scrum and better kicker, reds more elusive runners……..
Penalty Saders, right in front
Reds 14 / 13
Saders grinding out the big moments now… hard on attack, 1m out
Now it is all Crusaders
Charged Carter drop attempt, 5m scrum to the Saders
I missed the first 20 mins of the match, but from what i’ve seen, SBW has not been prominent. Is that correct?
I picked the Reds by 3 for this game…. but the Saders look like they might steal this one
78@ The_Young_Turk:
He was solid, but not spectacular
Penalty Crusaders, they can just pop this one over
Saders 16 / 14
Now I want a Reds try.. unconverted
Those bad passes , knock onns and missed kicks is costing the Reds dearly
Ahhhhhhhhhh, Reds penalty, on the 22, right in front
The most important kick off the day coming up
Reds 17 / 16
Whooow this was close
Reds do it!
Final Score: Reds 17 / 16 Crusaders
