Oh well!
Let us be honest this Reds team is GOOD and well coached. They outplayed a gutsy Bulls team. One like this i can take on the chin. But i will keep my chin up. Again the 2 players that disapoints me is the ones i left out of my team earlier this week. VM and FduP
bdb, issit FL offie spelers nou?
Try Bjorn again… too little, too late
try to that fantastic speedster Basson.
Reds 39 / 30
Great try, Bjorn!
Final Score: Reds 39 / 30 Bulls
Full tier and what a match. The best I’ve watched for ages. Well done Bulls and Reds. Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reds outplayed us , congrats this was a good game.
I thought the Bulls were much better this week. More heart and creativity. Defence needs to improve but they played a really good team in the Reds.
Statesman-like words from Victor, a giant of our game.
Was a good game… congrats Reds
This was much better game.
My opinion.
VM should have rested
FduP was not a improvement on FH
WO was great in defense but nothing happens when he passes the ball
More to follow
Very disappointed, we must do the fight from the grave now. But the guts to make the right changes is not there.
What is disapointing is that the Bulls do not even get a bonus point… zip, zero.
Bad season for them, some new ideas and creative thinking needs to go into forward planning.
For instance, we have begged for a better No 13 for a few years now… and nothing has happened.
We have moaned about handling all season and there is very little improvement.
We have touted a more possession-oriented appraoch and the Bulls have persisted with the same old, same old!
My Bru prediction was Reds by 13…. Bulls limited it to 9…
Looking at ALL the Bulls players…
Dean Greyling had some good runs and was solid
Danie Rossouw was very good
Kuun was better than Stegmann
Hougie was better than Fourie du Preez
Morné was solid to posts
Wynand let nobody past him
Bjorn was on fire on attack but defensively weak
Chiliboy and Gary was ordinary
Werner Kruger was nowhere
Victor and Bakkies were mediocre
Spies was his usual self, not inspiring
Gerhard van den Heever was plain kak
Zane was not good
@ grootblousmile:
Tonight’s game was the first Bulls game of the season for me. I can certainly see problems but I can also see the next generation shining through. Don’t worry too much, better days ahead, even though this season looks to be a dead loss.
173@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:
Well, one can’t play for them, one only supports them, but one needs to try and be objective of where you think they are going wrong.
Bulls undervalue possession and keeping the ball way too much… and I would say that for some reason they do not have that “in-you-face” defence, which greatly reduces the abilities of the silky runners like Surfer Dude, Sonny Bill Williams, Beale, Drew Mitchell, O’Connor, Genia, Maitland….. and so one can go on.
I say, cut the other team’s space and decision-making time on the ball, play possession rugby and get way better at the breakdowns!
172: goeie opsomming
@ grootblousmile:
All those problems you allude to GBS relate to the defensive systems employed by the Bulls. As we all know in Superugby, it is about defence first, then offence afterwards, so that may be where they need to look first and foremost.
I did notice a lot of youth in the side. That bodes well for the future and being an old 14, I am particularly impressed with Basson – jet shoes are an imperative in every team these days.
176@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:
Yip, defence and a lack of quick forward momentum….
… and another problem I see is that you did not see ONE double-around by Hougie or Fourie du Preez or Morné or Olivier, but one saw NUMEROUS such endeavours by Genia, Surfer Dude, Ioane….
So, the creativity and manufacturing side of offence is predictable and ordinary, by the Bulls.
The ball also comes way too slow from breakdowns….
Cooper is volgens my die mees dinamiese losskakel in wêreld rugby.
Go Cheetahs!! Go Lions/Stormers!
The question one must ask now is… with the Stormers losing AT HOME by 13 gainst the Reds and the Bulls losing by only 9 AWAY FROM HOME against the same team…. what will the Stormers do against the Saders…. hehehe
Worry Stormers…. worry!
A game now between the Crusaders and Reds will be priceless.
Who would you pick.
I would go for the Reds
the Reds 9/10 is better but then the 10/12 of the Crusaders. It will be a great game
