The Bulls started well with the wind and the early penalties as well as 2 Morné Steyn drop goals set up a good early lead. After that the canes were always playing catch-up rugby and eventually the Bulls ground out a 12-point win, in New Zealand.

24 Du Preez puts it up in the air again and the Bulls chasers are there quickly. They fail to roll away in the tackle and the Hurricanes look for touch.
23 He misses and Steyn sends a monster kick downfield and into touch. The Bulls steal the line-out and send it wide, they crash it up on the 22 before the ball is sent back to Steyn who pops over another DROP-GOAL.

25 They carry it up in midfield but there is no space there so they go wide. Jane puts a grubber through and Basson gets back to clean up.

26 Spies takes it off the back of the scrum and Du Preez kicks it high again. The Hurricanes hold on to it on the ground and that shows the value of committed defence as Vito got isolated there. Steyn knocks the PENALTY over and the Bulls are in control without scoring a try.
Bulls making the most of the breeze by getting points on the board even if it aint pretty.

30 Du Preez hoists and Basson wins it back. They go wide and then it is time for Steyn to hoist. Smith secures it and makes some ground. Chris Eaton picks up a loose ball and now they can stretch the Bulls defence. Nonu sends a plong pass out but the Bulls have scrambled back. They burst into the 22 with Lam beinbg brought down just short but the supporting player is tackled into touch. Close one for the Bulls there.

32 The Hurricnaes win the line-out and go to the backline, an intricate move seemed to create the overlap but Jane’s pass is not good enough for Savea to catch, the tryline was begging there. The Hurricanes will need to finish better if they want to beat the Bulls.

Bulls must take the grip back from the cannes
33 Steyn clears the ball from the scrum and the /hurricanes run it back with Jane. Some big tackles flying in now as Nonu takes it up but the Bulls are offside after they came up too quickly on defence. Kirkpatrick kicks the PENALTY to get his team on the board.

36 The Bulls come again with Olivier running sideways and the ball is knocked on. The Hurricanes go down the hands from the scrum and Jane puts a kcik through but it is fielded by Kirchner. Du Preez hoists and Jane knocks on so the Bulls will have a scrum on halfway.

39 Du Preez carries it up from the back but the support enters the ruck from the side and the Hurricanes can break out. The Bulls defence is up quickly and Kirkpatrick is forced to kick. Hougaard tries to clear but it comes off the side of his boot and the Hurricanes have an attacking line-out.
