Don’t really understand the Lions though.
The young Greek flyhalf from UCT (Katrakedis?) played Lions U19 AHEAD of Jantjies but was pushed out.
Found it very difficult to get anywhere at the Union with a “foreign” name and was basically ignored.
After all, “What do the Greeks know about Rugger?”
The Lions have lost all but one of their games by less points than they failed to kick, while Katrakidis has basically shown in the Varsity Cup that he knows how to get the ball between the uprights!
Makes you think doesn’t it?
I’m sure the Capetonians don’t mind though.
Sorry last comment was for Superbul.
@ superBul:
Solank n SA span net wen, dan is ek vred….
@ Scrumdown:
During the VC i said to GBS the Bulls must get him as a back up for Morne, that guy fits the Bulls game like a glove
Almost a turn-over try by the Landers
122@ Scrumdown:
Demitri Catrakilis….
Good player!
@ superBul:
17 min left…. Staat still 10 behind
125@ superBul:
Lions like to get rid of talent, see them flourish at other provinces, and buy them back when they’re knackered.
I just hope that with some professional businessmen there now that they start analysing things correctly before jumping into decisions.
If not then they may as well send Mitchell back to NZ now and save themselves some cash.
@ Pietman:
is jy op facebook
129@ grootblousmile:
That’s the one. Went to St John’s school. Seems very happy in the Cape now though.
Comes “home” regularly. A Greek friend of mine’s son knows him very well.
@ Scrumdown:
when i joked to Blouste that there is a lot of talent to buy in the Cheetah team i meant in the Lions team too.
Landers snuffing out all Cheetahs chances by competing very well at the breakdowns.
This penalty is for exactly that… and holding on by Ashley Johnson
@ Scrumdown:
But there is too many no 10’s in the Cape, we will go and buy one again. 😆
This is the time when the Cheetahs come back, one little break going their way will change this game around.
@ superBul:
136@ superBul:
True, but the difference is that this year both the Lions and Cheetahs SHOULD have enough cash to hang onto their youngsters.
Problem is though, if the Unions don’t show improvement the decent players will want to move on so that they can possibly play at National level.
Let’s face it, Vermaak and Baywatch were probably good enough to play for the Boks, but had very little chance of being selected whilst playing at the Lions.
Lions can be thankful that those 2 have stayed. I’m damned sure both could have gone elsewhere and made more money and had a chance to shine a bit brighter.
@ grootblousmile:
Wanner laas jy vir Thysman gesien? Ek nog in Stellenbosch, daai aand toe Bonzai by was….het gekyk daar by sy broer se losie op Nuweland annerdag, maar sien nie een van die Burgertjies daar nie.
Penalty Staat…. middle of the field on Landers 10m line…. go for posts man!
… and they do…
@ Scrumdown:
The Bulls better win more otherwise the move there to get more exposure might not be so bright. Players almost came for free just to join a winning team.
Missed by Sias
