Bulls (13) 43 / Chiefs (20) 27 (Final Score)
The Bulls hosted the Chiefs at Loftus Versveld, Pretoria at 17:05 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD & M-Net on TV in SA.
After a shocker of a first half, the Bulls came out of the blocks in the second half to score 3 converted tries in 9 minutes, resulting in the fact that they built up a good lead and causing the Chiefs to play catch-up from thereon in.
They solidified their lead with great goal kicking by Morné Steyn and denied the Chiefs a single Log point.
Mission accomplished fot this week, now every week needs to be like this, a 5-pointer!

Don’t agree with that TMO. Kirchner is still kuk.
Zane nie so hoogvat nie.

Bulls need to work on their points difference. Need to rack up points on these donkeys.
5 min left
Why was Basson on bench?
WO and Spies are not playing badly. FdP is playing much better. Kirchner is kuk and Morne is a donkey with a boot.
3 min left… and the Chiefs still only have 3 tries….
I wonder how 6 red must feel tonight, he must have nightmares
Hooter goes with Chiefs on attack
Try?
TMO
NOT Awarded to Isaac Ross
Game over…..
Well done, Bulls!!
Final Score: Bulls 43 / 27
16-point margin
I wonder how many Bulls have redeemed their names? Thanks Guys this is a much better feeling.
Mission accomplished for this game… but damn, the 1st half was uber kakkas.
2nd Half was great.
WO came back strongly, Spies was ok, FdP ok, Vic showed some flashes in the 2nd half. Bakkies nowhere, Zane kuk. Morne can only kick, otherwise is very slow. danie and Basson deserve to be in Boks.
😀
We are very relieved that Bulls managed to win a match they should never ever have been close to losing. Still a long way to go guys.
@ bdb:
Good one 🙂
There are some glimmers of hope for Boks. If Vic and FdP can find form this will be key.
@ bdb:
Hey ou mater dit was mos nou lekkkerrrrr
Old Asbakkie just SMS’d me to tell all the Bulls here CONGRATS with the Bulls win.
Well done Bulls!
@ grootblousmile:
So ons bly hoop.
Final verdict on this game:
Kirchner – Not a good day
Hougie – Ok’ish…. pity about the injury
Ndungane – Good one for him
Van den Heever – OK, can be happy
Dippenaar – Not a bad game
Olivier – His best of the season, still some silly knocks, one resulted in a Chiefs try
Morné Steyn – Dead-eye dick to posts and distributed well, still not razor sharp himself carrying the ball, defended well.
Fourie du Preez – Good option taking and solid, best for the seson, but was still, hesitant in the 1st half
Spies – Aweful in the 1st half, got better and scored a try, but not good enough
Danie Rossouw – Hard as ever, couple of silly knocks though.
Stegmann – Solid, no needless penalties… still not good enough though
Victor Matfield – Bit disapointing in the 1st half, got better as the game progressed.
Bakkies – Solid but not spectacular
Flip van der Merwe – Solid as a rock, this man has a future
Werner Kruger – Very busy in the loose and the tight loose, good game
Gary Botha – Hard as nails, great game
Chiliboy Rallepele – Solid, hard working
Dean Greyling – Good and solid
The Sharks XV won through to the semifinals of the Vodacom Cup with a tense 21-19 (halftime 15-8) win over Western Province at Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday.
The semifinals will see the Blue Bulls play Griquas, and the Sharks XV play the Pampas XV. The venues and times are to be confirmed by SA Rugby.
3 drie in 8 minute.
