The Sharks have named Partick Lambie in their team to face the Hurricanes this weekend however Bismarck du Plessis will miss the match.

Lambie suffered a hand injury against the Chiefs and has missed the last three matches with Jacques-Louis Potgieter starting at flyhalf in his place.

Bismarck du Plessis has not recovered sufficiently from the injury he picked up against the Lions two weeks ago and captain John Smit will start at hooker with Tendai Mtawarira and Eugene van Staden on either side of him.

Ross Skeate gets his first start for the season and will partner Steven Sykes in the second row with Gerhard Mostert named in the reserves while Jacques Botes and Keegan Daniel have swapped jerseys which is the only change to the loose-forward trio.

Aside from Lambie getting a start, the only other change to the backline sees Odwa Ndungane moved to the replacements with Lwazi Mvovo starting on the left wing and JP Pietersen occupying the right.

Ndungane has started all eight games to date.

The final change comes on the bench where Craig Burden returns as back-up for Smit.

The Hurricanes won last week’s 97 combined point clash against the Cheetahs and Sharks coach John Plumtree says he expects a game of flowing rugby.

“With the cooler weather, running rugby and ball-handling become that much easier to control,” he explained on the Sharks site.

“And bonus points have been a crucial part of our campaign and we’ve managed to stay in touch with the top sides which has been encouraging. ”

“We’re always looking to score the four tries, it’s just about how we want to play the game.

“We don’t want to be predictable, we want to be able to play from all areas of the field and we want to play to space – wherever that space is.

“That’s how we’re playing of late and how we promised we’d be playing. ”

“Sometimes it doesn’t go as well as others but certainly we want to be a side that is proactive in terms of using the ball.”

No backup flyhalf….Bosman or Stefan could deputise I suppose.
No room for the Bulls reject…..I agree, Curry Cup player at best.

    4Man

No reject, he played for the Cheetahs and the Sharks offered him more game time

Your next in line is not much better, Bosman
